Wedding Inspired by Gypsy Circus Carnival
Today we have one of the coolest weddings we’ve ever seen, with tons of unique, artistic details! Tamara and Aaron were inspired by an old fashioned gypsy circus-carnival. Aaron, a visual artist and cinematographer, did all the wedding art and made most of the aesthetic decisions, while Tamara arranged all the logistics of their Monterey destination wedding. Everything turned out SO beautiful, and we’re warning you, you may want to have a napkin nearby to wipe up the drool!
Tamara and Aaron were on a $5000 budget, so they got creative with their wedding venue. Tamara found a house on vrbo.com and booked it, site unseen. Luckily, it turned out perfect! They spent the week before the wedding at the house with the bridal party, and had the wedding there at the end of the week.
Favorite Wedding Moments
Comments from the bride: “My favorite thing about the wedding day, besides marrying the man of my dreams, was looking around and realizing that everyone had made this happen for us out of their sheer goodwill and love. This is encompassed in one moment- we were eating our reception dinner inside the house because it had started sprinkling outside and I looked out the window and saw that my friend/bridesmaid Sharaya had taken the time to sew and put chair bows on the chairs that were in front of the cake table. I was struck because the cake table itself was more beautiful than I thought it would be, with a lace table cloth (I still don’t know where that came from) and two cute little chairs.
“What hit me at that second was that Sharaya is a BUSY girl. She is in the middle of law school, on a worship team at her church, working, not only did she sing the hymn during our ceremony, she made these silly chair bows just because I had liked them on a blog AND took the initiative and made sure to tie them on perfectly before the ceremony. That was how the whole day happened, people just gave generously beyond what we had expected.”
Their cake was so awesome–it was made out of donuts!! YUM.
Advice for Future Brides
I feel like I was a horrible bride, lol. I used Google docs incessantly, but when it came to the day of all my spreadsheets didn’t help that much. I forgot to carry my bouquet down the aisle, didn’t get to talk to any of my guests because everyone scattered from their tables when it started sprinkling, and Aaron and I toasted with redbull/vodka in a champagne flute instead of champagne because that was the closest thing. The one thing I would say is this: You HAVE to forget about pleasing other people. I made the mistake of basing a few decisions based on what I thought would look good in pictures, or what I thought my parents wanted to see, and those are the only things I regret.”
Congratulations Tamara and Aaron! Your wedding was amazing!! Huge thanks to Tahni of Joyeuse Photography for sending these photos to us.

Meredith
Despite her dreamy wedding blogger lifestyle, Meredith's day job is running ClassicVeils.com and a full-time mom to an active toddler. If she could, Meredith would spend her days taking cruises, helping animals in need, and watching Big Brother!
cute! sharing ♥ and what’s more exciting is the $5000 budget! sounds awesome!
Wow, best ceremony kiss picture ever!
Had the honor of being the pastor who married is beautiful couple. What made the wedding truly beautiful and memorable wasn’t in the details for the wedding, but in the way that they focused on having a beautiful marriage. All the details that go unseen in preparing for a loving relationship that will stand the test of time shines through in the details of the wedding.nthankful that they spent more time and effort in their relationship than in their wedding.
Adorably cute!
That cake is awesome! Never seen something like that before.
Wow – lots of great little details. Love all the signage!
