L&L Remarks
A lovely lavender infused wedding at Green Villa Barn and Garden with touches of lavender throughout, a favorite here on L&L! With fall season upon us, so I wanted to soak in the summery feel of this outdoor wedding before the weather changes. From where I sit today, it looks like the cool winds of autumn have already arrived.
I love the white lights used as a canopy within the building – a historic 1928 barn once used as a dance hall during Prohibition. There are tons of DIY touches throughout that make this wedding simply delightful!
Lavender Candle Favor
For a lavender themed wedding (such as this) these mason jar lavender candle favors are a great alternative to food favors. Plus, candles are the type of favor that your guests can take home and use after your wedding day is over.
DIY Candles: If you’ve got the time, try your hand at this DIY candle project I found online.
Buy Online: Otherwise, maybe you want to simply buy a batch of handmade lavender candles from one of the trusted sellers on Etsy and be done with it. No messy candle making or hassle.
Check out this post we wrote on how to use dried lavender at your wedding for more ideas.
Chalkboard Menu Comfort Food
The chalkboard menu below has got to be one of my favorite wedding menus of all time! As the chalkboard sign in the photo indicates:
- Pulled Pork
- Fresh baked rolls
- Creamy coleslaw
- Green salad
- Grandma’s baked beans
- Fruit tray
In fact, when I was originally considering a destination wedding in San Fransisco for my own wedding, the reception was going to be catered by a long-standing southern barbeque food restaurant that had a very similar menu. Makes my mouth water just looking at the sign!
