Real Wedding: Rustic DIY Wedding
Happy Monday everyone! I really LOVE today’s wedding! Christiana and Justin put together a fabulous DIY wedding that was brimming with creativity and rustic details!
More from the Bride: “The inspiration for the wedding was a blend of rustic, classic and cozy. We wanted our day to be very intimate and comfortable for all of the guests. We fell in love with Stone Oak immediately and knew it was where we wanted to get married. It was everything we wanted: rustic and cozy, with touches of elegance like the gorgeous chandeleirs. We really just wanted our wedding day to be a time where friends and family could feel loved and appreciated for all they have done for us throughout our lives and relationship.”
“We didn’t want anything too formal. We spent the year leading up to the wedding shopping at thrift stores and flea markets for little details that we could use at the wedding. It was a lot of work doing it all without a planner and on a budget but it really came together in the end. It really made it special to look around on our wedding day and admire all the little touches that friends and family had spent hours making. We wouldn’t have had it any other way.”
“My favorite memory from the day was seeing Justin for the first time. We decided to be traditional and wait until I walked down the aisle. It was such a precious moment seeing his face and realizing that we had been waiting for this moment for so long. My mom walked me down the aisle because my dad passed away a few years ago. That walk was just so special and meaningful to me, I will never forget how I felt.”
Advice for Future Brides
“To future brides I would say: really try your best to soak up the whole process. I know it may seem stressful at some points but the beauty of your whole wedding is not just on your wedding day. It’s the many hours spent planning, putting together favors with your favorite people and celebrating your love that matter the very most. Work hard to have your wedding reflect who you guys are as a couple and don’t worry about all the tiny details. It’s such a precious time in your life, take mental snapshots often.”
