L&L Remarks
Today’s wedding proves that extravagant venues are not necessary for a perfect wedding. The bride and groom held their wedding ceremony and reception at Firestone Metro Park in Ohio. A wedding at a park is a great idea as often permits or location fees for the park space are nominal compared to what a proper wedding venue will charge.
Things to keep in mind for a park wedding:
- Get to know the area: Make sure to get to know the lay of the land well before hosting your wedding ceremony/reception. Take notes on: the position of the sun and where it will be during your ceremony, pedestrian traffic (this is a public area so people are going to be around), bathroom facilities, other events going on at the same time (ie: baseball games) and parking.
- Park Rental: Do your homework to make sure you are allowed a wedding. You will most likely need a park permit (usually free), but you will probably have to pay the location fee that can range from $50-$200. Make sure to read the permit fine print and confirm you are allowed to bring rental equipment, play music, amplification, and most importantly clean up procedures. Many parks have fines if any garbage is left behind.
- Back up plans: Make sure you have contingency plan in case of rain. A park wedding is outside and often times there is only a small undercover area.
Love seeing beverage dispensers at a wedding reception — especially ones filled with apple mint iced tea!
The color of her shoes is amazing, and I love her headpiece! The simplicity of the bridesmaid dresses, the burlap checkers game, all show that this was a fun, comfortable, and low-key wedding.
