Anastasia Steele’s Exact Wedding Day Make Up – Get the Look
Ever notice when a celebrity gets married, most of us want to get our hands on the same gown from the celeb designer?
Or, when a certain long awaited final instalment of a movie is released, AND it includes a wedding scene — *cough* Fifty Shade Freed *cough* — fans want to get the full inside scoop on all the beautiful detailings.
(Although, I think Edward and Bella’s wedding in Twilight was way more dramatic, but I digress)
Everything from the gorgeous flower filled ceremony backdrop to the dreamy Monique Lhuillier off the shoulder lace gown. And don’t forget about that delicate drop veil with the added Melani swarovski crystals comb underneath. What’s not to love during a beautiful wedding scene with an oversized budget?
Details that are sure to inspire many an upcoming wedding.
What about the makeup?
Surely a billionaire-bride would be using fancy products, not to mention have the best make up artist around to create her beautiful natural bridal look.
It got me wondering, and the PI in me started investigating.
Turns out she did have a very talented make up art on hand, in fact she had a BAFTA and Emmy winning celebrity make up artist named Evelyne Noraz. Evelyne has a huge portfolio that includes TV shows and movies such as:
- Sex and the City
- X-Men
- Bride Wars
As well, the upcoming Jennifer Lawrence film, Red Sparrow.
Now, if only we could take a peek inside Evelyne’s make up bag to see what products she used to create Dakota’s *ahem* Miss Steele’s wedding day makeup design.
Well thanks to instagram, we can!
I am a researcher at heart, and sifting through Evelyne’s feed and comments allowed me to find all the goodies and products we need to know to complete Anastasia Steele’s wedding day makeup look. Although, be forwarned that the wrap sheet of products to get her look is most certainly going to increase your current makeup budget.
Nail Polish
One of the first things I noticed during the wedding ceremony scene was Ana’s lovely clear, glossy, pinkish hue, natural looking nail polish. Turns out other fans wanted to know what she was wearing too.
Fan question: @glampeacock’s “Do you know what nail polish ,brand name and shade that Anastasia is wearing in Freed?”
@evelynenoraz_makeup responded: “@keltiemcknight she did the beautiful nails”
@Keltiemcknight replied: “@glampeacock we used Dior Nail Glow on Anastasia’s nails in both Darker & Freed”
I ended up purchasing Dior Nail Glow at Gatwick Airport recently and though I would share the results. Two coats definitely added a pretty pink glow to the nail bed that which a normal clear lacquer could not accomplish. Once dried, the nail bed appeared to have a French manicure effect as if you have just come from the salon. For any brides who are thinking of DIYing their nails for the big day and don’t want much hassle, this polish would be a beautiful (and easy) option.
In the below instagram post Evelyn says she mainly used the listed products for Darker, but a question in the comments section of another instagram wedding day make up post confirmed that she did use the same foundation for the wedding day look.
Fan Questions: “@fischyface @evelynenoraz_makeup can you please tell us what is on her skin?”
@evelynenoraz_makeup Responded: “@fischyface #KohgendoMaifanshi aqua foundation , concealer and pressed powder are from Kohgendo too”

Foundation Colors Used: 012 + 0113 were used mostly. With the addition of 123 for more warmth.

Fan Question: @carolina_almanza “How do you apply all makeup after skin care. So it looks glowy, natural imperfection-free. I noticed Dakota has under bags, but with your makeup “procedure” there wasn’t a trace of them.”
@evelynenoraz_makeup responded: “I apply the foundation with a damp beauty blender sponge and the concealer with a concealer brush. Remember there is great lighting on set and also some movie magic filters if need be.”

Fan Questions: “traquet_ @evelynenoraz_makeup What blusher did you use on Dakota? She has a fair skin color like me and I always find it hard to find a good one.”
@evelynenoraz_makeup Replied: “For blush : Kevyn Aucoin cream blush Isadore or Pravella/ Janelle duo.”
For Glow
This is Evelyn’s Instagram post sharing all the make up details from the wedding scene . Thanks Evelyn!
Eyeshadow
Brows & Mascara
Eyeliner
Dior eyeliner was used (as seen in the photo) but the exact one may no longer be available.
Someone else asked her the same questions @skrzaciasta “Is it possible that they discontinued the Dior eyeliner too? I’ve seen the diorshow waterproof liner but in different package with different shape of the product inside.” She didn’t reply.
Lip Pencil
Other Products Seen on Evelyn’s Make Up Station
I can’t prove that the following products were used during the wedding scene, but one can only assume that is the case as they are seen in Evelyn’s Instagram post (below) along with all the other products listed.
Gold Carnaby Zebra Stacking Dish
This super cute dish is seen over and over again in all of Evelyn’s instagram photos. It is really meant to be used as a jewellery or change holder on a bed side table, but I love that she saw it as a foundation makeup mixing palette.
While it’s highly unlikely a custom Monique Lhuillier off the shoulder lace gown is coming our way, Ana’s wedding day make up look is much more attainable.
In just a few clicks and by spending some hard earned cash, you too can capture at least a little bit of the glamour that Fifty Shades Freed has to offer.
Meredith
Despite her dreamy wedding blogger lifestyle, Meredith's day job is running ClassicVeils.com and a full-time mom to an active toddler. If she could, Meredith would spend her days taking cruises, helping animals in need, and watching Big Brother!
That nail polish on Evelyn’s hand… Aww love that colour. It looks very pretty with gloss!
Apply a light-weight moisturizer before your makeup. Moisturizers help your skin, and also allow makeup to go on evenly. Your makeup won”t look blotchy when you moisturize. This is a wonderful method to keep your makeup looking fresh longer. Use a product called “hot spray” on your wet hair before blow drying it.
