Photographer’s Comments: “Fate is such a funny thing. The moments that could quickly pass us by can sometimes be the moments that change our lives forever. Cristina and Matthew met one day at an elementary school. Matt was finishing up his law degree and had been picking up a few hours teaching at the local elementary school. In the same school, Cristina was also taking on shifts as a teacher’s assistant while finishing her teaching degree.
“One day, Cristina was assigned Matthew’s class to assist for the day. Matt says he knew immediately that he wanted to date her, but the timing wasn’t right. In fact, the timing was terrible because that was Cristina’s last day as an assistant before she went on to do a full-time teaching practicum. They went their separate ways, and both wondered if anything would ever come from their meeting that day. Four years later, these events came full circle. Cristina was hired as a school teacher at the exact school where Matt’s mother was Principal of Our Lady Fatima School. It was then that Matt discovered she was working in that school and the rest was history.
“The proposal happened while they were on vacation to Santorini, Greece. They had many adventures in Greece, but the romantic spot near the cliffs of Santorini will be a lasting memory for the two of them when he asked her to marry him. Matthew and Cristina have always enjoyed traveling together, exploring new places as they go. They also enjoy movies, going out to dinner and trying new foods, and going dancing together in their free time. It was this free spirit that made their engagement photo session one to remember.
“Deer Lake is already a beautiful location, but these two brought new ideas and new personalities to it! They rented a boat and after a few minutes of trying to figure out how to use the oars, were floating romantically on the beautiful lake. It was truly a unique and very creative idea for their Deer Lake Engagement Session! While they were drifting on the smooth lake and enjoying each other, we were hard at work running around with our cameras on the beach capturing these precious moments. Their boating adventure was followed by an intimate picnic together, and it was a session that warmed our hearts.”
