Photographer’s Comments: “I am so excited to share with you our little mermaid inspired wedding shoot!

“Our goal was to bring in beautiful colors & romance to a traditional disney love story. This bright and elegant combination was created using golds, teals, pinks, grey & coral to interlace this unique inspirational event. A few of our inspirational elements include the ocean, waves crashing against rocks, succulents to represent the under the sea vibe, & Ariel’s transformation from a mermaid princess to a royal queen. We want to wow brides with the beauty they love & let them know you can create your wedding inspiration from any elements you love without replicating it completely.

“I am Krishna Sutherland & I own Krishna Sutherland Photography in Middle Georgia. Creating & designing wedding elements that are meaningful & eye catching is one of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer. For this styled shoot I was inspired by my love for the little mermaid & obsession for beautiful colors & unique ideas. The Little Mermaid is an iconic movie so many girls fall in love with, from the story line to the fun energy of Ariel’s personality making everyone want to be a mermaid, right?! The disney themed engagements & weddings are everywhere but our team took this vision to another level by looking for cohesive elegant trends within the movie. I adore the love that Ariel has for her Prince Eric who just happens to live in a white castle with a red roof- therefore sparked my idea to host the little mermaid wedding at the stunning Tybee Island Wedding Chapel. I decided I would need a real life couple as my main models & knew just the couple to fit the part. Lauren & Bradley Brooks have been madly in love & got married in September of 2015. Their lasting love always shows when they are together & they share a passion for subadriving. They love the water & Lauren found her perfect Prince in Bradley so I knew they would fill our images with that passion I wanted. I had a strong vision for this style & our team went above & beyond to create this look!

“The Tybee Island Wedding Chapel located on Tybee Island Georgia helped create a breathtaking venue any bride would love from the incredible grand ballroom to the famous Chapel that was featured in The Last Song. The chapel was moved after the movie & brought up to island codes adding the ballroom & just a few minutes drive from the beach! If you are looking for a fairy tale dream venue this is a must see!

“Since Bradley custom made Laurens engagement & wedding ring designed perfectly for their love story I was honored to use their rings in our shoot. The rings were designed by Steel’s Jewelry in Valdosta Georgia & will surely take any girls breath away. As every marriage is unique I believe the beautiful ring that symbolizes your marriage should be just as unique.

“Our amazing wedding gown was a Carrie’s Bridal Collection design style 4187 & can be found at their second storefront, Carries Bridal Collection in Macon. Their other location is in Atlanta. If you are looking for your princess dress they are a must visit with all their pieces design by Carrie herself. They cater exclusively to brides carrying only bridal designed gowns without costing thousands of dollars.

“Our table & chairs were provided by the venue & I hand cut chiffon fabric for our chair sashes which helped us depict a beautiful setting under the chandelier filled ballroom. We felt this area brought the most to our layout with a truly royal ambience. Infinitely Elegant Designs crafts stunning woodwork & supplied our coastal Bride & Groom chair signs. Dee with Willow Gardens traveled from Florida and designed an amazing succulent table spread. Echeverias, mixed succulents with strings of bananas & strings of pearls were used in the design on the tables as well as our bouquet & boutonniere. You can find the beautiful eco friendly sola flowers throughout her creations which she customizes the color for each event. Willow Gardens specialized in succulent wedding designs & is fabulous to work with. Alongside the greenery & succulents is a handmade oyster shell garland created by Vintage Rain to drape our tabletop over a grey chiffon runner. This unique piece is not easily found & extremely time consuming. We love the beauty the pearly oysters bring to our vision blending royalty with our under the sea princess inspiration. The tabletop place settings are through our favorite vintage, china & glassware rentals provided by The Prissy Plate Company in Atlanta. Their collection of colored goblets, mismatch of china, and napkins brought our style to the next level with the beautiful colors & classic touch. To assure we had the romantic feel to our style we added assorted glass candle holders with floating candles & taper candles throughout our setup. Our dazzling sea glass table numbers by My Letters From Eden add luxuriory & the perfect pop of color to our setup.

“J. Graham Lettering composed gorgeous oyster shell place cards & we just do not know how he does it, but the calligraphy on each shell is beyond perfect. They are definitely a must have for any coastal wedding event!

“Our ocean inspired three tier cake designed by Make It Cake in Middle Georgia was beautifully crafted & the perfect addition to our shoot. From the delicate swirling colors to the lovely isomalt sculpture that coast down the tiers convey the crashing waves we see as Ariel watches Eric on her iconic rocks.

“Our favors table features our birchwood anchor guestbook another gorgeous product from Infinitely Elegant Designs. They custom made this engraved anchor for the shoot & we know brides will love this alternative guestbook to display in their home. Another beautiful sea glass sign by My Letters From Eden & gold sea inspired toast glasses by The Prissy Plate Company. P.S. Sweets bakes incredible creations with her cookies. We are in love with her delicious elegant starfish & seashell favors displayed on sea glass. The adorable & fun succulent favors by Willow Gardens are a sure favorite for any wedding to keep the love growing strong!

“Our groom wore a Clayton ultra slim heather grey suit accompanied by a grey vest, white shirt, & expressions malibu bowtie by Jim’s Formal Wear. We loved this look for our groom & his wife was glad to see him in some slim fit pants!

“Our hair & makeup was done by the talented Heather who owns Beyond Beautiful By Heather. She helped created the perfect bridal look & braid to company the starfish and pearl wedding crown. Be Something New designed our starfish crown and matching starfish garter. High Tide Design provided our beautiful bridal oyster & pearl earrings, bracelet & matching cliff links for our groom. Our bride wore handmade beach sandals by Chic Custom Croche tying in the joy Ariel has for her new legs & toes! All these unique & stunning products brought the perfect harmony we were search for in our elegant bride.

“Since Lauren & Bradley are already happily married I had them renew some vows in the Chapel. The wedding aisle was boarded by loose oyster shells, floating candles & greenery featuring the lyrics to Part Of Your World on a calligraphy runner. All DIY projects I have been pulling together since I started the vision for this shoot.

“Wedding Paper Love provided our custom wedding invite suite. We love the pops of color, & details she puts into all her work. We were excited to add some of the stunning work from The Chelsea Collection to our wedding details including her customized wedding dress hanger, & hand painted ring box. From the details on the wooden ring box to the adorable “part your world” message inside her collection is a must have for your wedding day. Your bridesmaids will go crazy over her proposal boxes made just for them. The featured box in our style included a mermaid bracelet, necklace with initial charm, photo keepsake area, & a custom message that reads, ‘The best ships are Friendships! Thank you for standing by me at the sea as I marry my Prince’.

Needless to say the vendors that helped pull off this love story did an incredible job & I could not pull off any of this vision without this team.
