Wedding Story

We thought we’d share an amazing hot air balloon wedding theme, photographed by the ever so talented Logan Cole. Emily and Christopher had a bright and beautiful wedding held at the Westgate Hotel in San Diego, California.

Their wedding theme was the sky’s the limit because right after Christopher proposed there was a hot air balloon waiting for them. Aww–so sweet!

The bridesmaid’s dresses are from Etsy (we are loving them!), while the shoes are designer heels by Badgley Mischka. Check out more designer bridal heels in our ultimate roundup of popular brands.

Emily bought Christopher’s ring from a top rated Etsy seller (Brent and Jess of Fabuluster) as a surprise for him on their wedding day. The wedding band has her fingerprint on it, which we think is such a unique way to personalize your man’s ring.

They got married at the highest point in the hotel, the roof, and had pink hot air balloon centerpieces to match!

Calling all DIY experts: We’ve had a lot of inquiries about how to DIY these balloon centerpieces and would love some input. From what we can tell, the balloon is filled with helium, and then a netting (what exactly?) is draped over top. Twine could be affixed to the base of the balloon as well as running down to the ‘hot air balloon basket’ beneath.

This hot air balloon idea is such a wonderful DIY craft idea for a wedding — now all we need is exact instructions!
