Wedding Story
From the blog:
I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a strange year. But, on Saturday, September 5, 2020, the world felt all as it should during Bret and Leslie Ulyat’s Rensseler, Indiana wedding.
I mean, family and friends were together, toasts were made, guests danced and danced, and Bret and Leslie—who were clearly destined to be together—became husband and wife!
Bret and Leslie’s big day was gorgeous and joy filled, and I’m so excited to share their wedding at Trinity United Methodist Church and the Jasper County Fairgrounds!
While they didn’t officially meet until their late teens and early 20’s and didn’t start dating until Leslie was in college, Bret and Leslie grew up in neighboring small towns—Rensselaer and Remington, Indiana.
At different points in their lives, Bret and Leslie both had plans to leave their small communities, but after being away (Bret for a few years and Leslie just for a night according to her dad’s speech), they both realized that it’s a beautiful thing to do life with the people you’ve loved and known the longest. And, as a result, they both moved back to the Jasper County area—which led them to dating! (You can read more of their story and see their engagement photos here!)
Today, Bret and Leslie have a home not far from either set of their parents; Bret runs the family business with his dad (Ulyat Trucking); they host pool parties at their house regularly; and they clearly value their friends and family above all else.
In fact, their wedding day was a testament to how well Bret and Leslie prioritize relationships. I mean, their families were clearly nothing short of elated to be gaining a new son and daughter. Bret and Leslie’s bridal party was made up of friends they met as toddlers and have managed to maintain decade-long friendships with. And, although their wedding was big, it was obvious that Bret and Leslie have a personal relationship with every guest that was in attendance.
Long story short, Bret and Leslie understand how to love others well and prioritize relationships, and it was a beautiful thing to see these two people become husband and wife and be celebrated by the people they love most.
