These Cards Get You Drunk
I have this game, and they were NOT kidding when they named it. It will, in fact, get you hammered. So much so, I feel I should advise you to stay home to play. Or get a limo and a babysitter. Regardless, play responsibly and make bad choices in a safe place.
The premise is simple: everyone takes turns drawing a card from the pile then does what it says. Each card will pit the group against each other in some way by competing, voting, or screwing over a friend. No matter what you get, it’ll be hilarious – trust me.
DIY Bachelorette Party Games
Panty Party
This fun game is great for throwing a little bridal shower in with your bachelorette party, because at the end, she gets to keep them all!
Request that every guest brings a pair of new panties that represents their personality. Keep in mind, this game works best if you aim for “over the top”.
Display them around the room before the bride gets there, and throughout the party, she gets to guess which panties match which guest.
Want to get really crazy about it? You can make her do it as soon as she arrives and take a shot for each one she guesses wrong. Either way, super fun and she gets a bunch of new and *interesting* panties out of it.
Ring Hunt
Lots of bachelorette parties feature a scavenger hunt for when the bride tribe is out on the town. This bachelorette scavenger hunt is meant to be played at your digs for the weekend.
Before everyone gets there, hide ring favors all over the house (I thought these were pretty cool, but if you want to take it to an impressively tasteless level, try these guys), and have the ladies hunt for them.
You can stop there and award a prize to whoever finds the most rings, or turn it into a drinking game where everyone except the person who finds the ring has to take a shot.
Booze Pong
No matter how prissy you are, you have to admit that beer pong is fun. But what if you’re not down with red plastic solo cups and stinky beer spilled everywhere? What if you want to class it up a bit?
Try prosecco pong with plastic champagne glasses instead! You can find your own, or you can find sets like this one ready to go on Etsy or Amazon.
If you’re not a fan of the bubbly (I don’t get that, but it takes all kinds), you can opt for wine pong or just find some nice clear plastic cups to hold the preferably pink drinks of your choice. Either way, it will be a very classy twist on the classic bachelorette party idea.
The (Almost) Newlywed Game
If you’re up for soliciting the cooperation of her future groom, the (almost) newlywed game is a hilarious way to test her knowledge of the groom-to-be.
With his help, come up with a list of questions for her to answer about him and/or their relationship. You can either write down his answers or better yet, record him answering them for her to see. If you want to involve the other guests, have them wager bets on how many she’ll get right and award a gift to the closest guess.
Telephone Charades
If you need a game to get everyone up and on their feet, charades of any kind is a great choice, but I happen to think this mix of charades and telephone is especially fun.
Make a list of activities (clean, dirty, or both, depending on who’s on the guest list) and split everyone up into groups A and B.
To begin, one person from group A should be designated as the “operator” for their team. Everyone in team A lines up next to the operator as Team B gives her an activity from the list (no peeking!), then she’ll have 30 seconds to present her superior pantomime skills to the next player in her group.
That player then attempts to mimic the first as closely as possible, and so on down the line until they get to the end where the last person in line guesses what the action is supposed to be.
Repeat with group B, and enjoy the show! Want to give out prizes to the team with the most correct guesses? Try some goody bags with favors like lip balms, hair ties, bracelets, etc.

Bachelorette Party FAQs
Traditionally, the bridal party pools their talents and resources to organize and pay for the bachelorette bash. The bride pays for nothing and gets to sit back, relax, and enjoy the mayhem.
Now, if the bride’s family (or even the groom) wants to help fund the celebration, we say traditions were made to be broken. TAKE THE DOUGH…as long as they respect the guest list, no strings attached. This is the one time that a don’t ask, don’t tell policy is appropriate.
Fun side note: I live in Nashville TN, commonly known as the Vegas of the south because it plays host to unbelievable amounts of hen and stag parties every year.
So it was no surprise when, during a recent trip downtown, I saw a car with “it’s her last fling before the ring – buy the bride a drink!” painted on the windows along with what I can only assume was the bride’s Venmo info.
Do I think this is a good idea? Nope. I don’t. Do I think it’s a more clever, safer way to get drinks from strangers than dancing on the bar? Yeah, I do.
The loose answer to this one is that it all depends upon everyone’s availability. That said, most people in the know about these things (like us, for instance) recommend scheduling out a couple of months in advance.
That way, the bride isn’t overwhelmed with pre-wedding commitments and planning, and she’ll have plenty of time to get away from it all for a couple of days without stressing.
The bridesmaids are a given, but anyone else the bride wants to celebrate with should be invited too, budget allowing. Keep in mind that the focus is on her, so don’t invite anyone with whom you think she wouldn’t be comfortable talking about intimate subject matter.
You know, just in case the convo turns racy. It is a bachelorette party, after all.
No! Definitely not required, but if you want to bring a little something, no one’s gonna kick you out.
For instance, a gift card for a massage or spa service is always popular. Personalized gifts are great, too. For example, a pic of the two of you on a memorable trip in a nice frame.
Whatever you choose, try to make it about her and/or your friendship! (And avoid all the domestic stuff that’s (probably) already on the wedding registry.)
Let The Good Times Roll, Ladies
The bachelorette party is a sacred ritual where members of your tribe unite in sisterhood to celebrate a woman’s passage from freedom to betrothal. Betrothal to one guy (or gal). Forever.
When you think of it that way, it’s not hard to understand why a woman needs a great last fling before the ring with some great bachelorette party games. She needs to bond with her friends and laugh all night as you make idiots of yourselves together.
In short, she needs to know that in the face of great change, some things will remain the same.
