Rustic Outdoor Summer Wedding
You may think that’s an oxymoron, but as soon as you see the photos from today’s wedding, we’re sure you’ll be in a good mood. Irina and Alex planned the most beautiful rustic outdoor summer wedding with lots of handmade details. We are in love with it all, from the mismatched blush colored bridesmaid dresses to Irina’s adorable shoes (boots and oxfords!) to the ceremony setup with strips of fabric blowing in the breeze.
From Irina: “Most of my inspiration came from the beautiful outdoors and the countryside. I’ve always wanted to have an outdoor wedding and since my wedding was right in the middle of summer, it worked out perfectly. I wanted to incorporate the nature with a twist of a rustic/country theme. I really enjoy scrap-booking and crafts, so putting together details and crafting signs and banners was the fun part. The beautiful venue made everything fit together so perfectly, I couldn’t have asked for a better place!”
“My dress was definitely a unique and special detail. I bought the dress 6 sizes too big off the rack because I didn’t have enough time to order one. My aunt altered the dress to fit me, and my very talented mother made the dress look so much more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. She took lace from a veil and sewed on the sleeves and added more tulle to the neckline. She also added lace scallops to the belt and a big beautiful bow to the back of the dress. I definitely don’t think there is another one of my dresses out there anywhere!”
“My favorite memory from the wedding day was definitely making my way down the aisle. After shedding a few tears when my daddy saw me in my white dress, we made our way outside to begin the procession. I was so excited and so nervous that I remember my hands and feet being ice cold, in 98 degree weather. I remember watching my wedding party walk down the aisle one by one, and instead of getting more and more nervous, I seemed to feel more and more calm.
“When it was finally my turn to meet my groom at the altar, I remember walking down the aisle and wondering where my nerves went. I also kept stepping on my dress, so it took me a lot longer to walk down the aisle than I thought. My dad ended up picking up some of my dress and holding it with his free hand. Seeing my groom’s face was priceless. I can clearly remember the huge grin spread across his face as he stood there waiting for me, his bride. There’s something about that look of pure bliss and love that doesn’t ever fade from your memory.”
“My advice to future brides is to start early! I knew exactly what I wanted my wedding to be like before my husband even proposed to me. I knew what I liked and what I didn’t like and it made it that much easier to plan my wedding stress free. Even if your engagement is long, start planning and booking vendors early. The tiny details will creep up towards the end anyway, and if you have everything else done, it won’t add as much stress to your already busy schedule. Also, the day of the wedding flies by so incredibly fast. Make sure you take a step back during the day to just enjoy it and take in the beauty of it all.”

I love that big gold ampersand between the bride’s and groom’s chairs. Maybe not too practical, but does look adorable.
Oh my gosh, who did your invitations?? I love them.
A farm/country wedding with personality…I love the “here comes the bride” announcement on the asile, original idea. Congrats!
