Outdoor Budget Friendly Wedding with unique DIY style

We love starting the week off on a high note and that is exactly what we will be doing today! Erin and Matt’s wedding was simply gorgeous. They have great style and were able to put together an outdoor budget friendly wedding that is truly one of a kind!

Here is what the bride said about her day: “I’ve never been that girl that had my whole day planned out or knew what I wanted so the process was, at times, overwhelming but soon enough we had a good idea of what we wanted. We wanted something outdoors, somewhere where we could add our personal touches and most importantly, somewhere unique and FUN! We knew that Park Ranch would be a LOT of work. But we also knew that this venue would allow our wedding to be incredibly personal, unique and thankfully, allow for a lot more money saving DIY projects. The venue is huge so we knew we had to make it comfortable and make designated areas to keep it from getting too overwhelming.”

“We lucked out by having 4 family weddings over the past couple of years so we were able to get some hand-me-down decor and we were able to make it work. We scoured flea markets, garage sales and friends and family’s backyards for furniture for the cocktail hour. Immediately we had lots of offers for help – from Matt’s uncle offering to cater the wedding to save us money (and he did!), my mother in law helping me with all the ideas for decorations, Matt’s aunt making homemade marshmallows for our s’more station, my brother up on a ladder hanging chandeliers and my mom, sister and aunt making all of the flower arrangements – everyone pitched in and helped us pull off an amazing wedding.”

Advice for Future DIY Brides

“My biggest advice to other DIY brides is to let people help you, don’t be afraid to mix and match, and remember if a little project you had on your list doesn’t get done, the only person that will know is you. And most importantly, have fun! After all of the stress, penny pinching and seemingly endless wedding projects we had an amazing wedding. It was perfect. We had the best day and couldn’t have imagined our wedding anywhere else.”
