Elegant Windfall Farms Wedding, California
I love Doreen and Daniel’s wedding. I love how they made a rustic barn wedding so romantic and fun!
Here is what Doreen said about her day:
“Our inspiration for our wedding began with Paso Robles. We wanted to have a destination wedding, not too far and not too close to LA. Paso Robles was the perfect place not only for its beauty and wineries, but also because it was a very loved vacation spot for us while we were dating.
“We originally looked at a lot of wineries, but got tipped off to Windfall Farms from a waiter at our favorite restaurant. When we found Windfall, it became our inspiration because of the the beauty and uniqueness of the venue. We loved the rolling green hills, the horses, and the beauty of the Stallion Barn with all the empty horse stalls and rustic-chic elements.”
“Walking down the aisle was the most memorable moment I’ve ever experienced. A few months before the wedding, I was overcome with anxiety about not enjoying every moment of my own wedding due to other brides’ reported experiences. I became so worried about being nervous and not remembering anything, but the morning of our wedding day I was filled with excitement. That excitement built up to that few minutes when I was walking down the aisle to The Lumineers Ho, Hey and really being so present in that moment.
“I remember telling myself to look around, take it slow, and try to remember every face, detail, and emotion of it all. When Daniel and I finally met in the aisle, we began walking together and ended up singing and dancing down the aisle together, not noticing anything else that was happening around us except for the love and excitement in the air.
“When the song ended and we reached the Chuppah, the energy all around us was electric and even our Rabbi was emotional, and poured much love and beauty into our ceremony because of it.”
“We let the venue guide our set up, decor, and flow for the wedding day. We really wanted to maximize the space and get creative with it so we thought about all the things we could do to make the wedding special to us and fun for everyone. We used a few of the horse stalls as a photo booth, dessert station, cigar & brandy bar, and a kids corner. Then we thought about filling up this large, beautiful wine rack with flasks as party favors, but mostly just to have our guests boozy and happy! Then, we topped it all off with bistro lights, family photos, engagement photos, and signature cocktails. Our venue spoke true to who we were as a couple and we were able to incorporate all kinds of personal elements into the decor and the party that made it a wonderfully fun night for us.”
Advice For Brides
“Decide on a vision for your special day with your fiancé, and stay true to that vision no matter the obstacles or challenges. Work together to achieve that vision, and during your planning time you will come to learn and appreciate each other’s strengths and passions that will truly show in all the details of your special day.
“No matter how silly or outrageous an idea might be, go for it, and remember that it is YOUR special day and you should really do what makes the day fun for the both of you.
“Daniel and I tried not to tell people any details about our wedding (not even our parents!), so as not to be swayed by people’s thoughts or opinions, and really remain true to all the things we agreed on, whether big or small. That made our planning process successful, and our wedding truly magical. Also, a fantastic wedding coordinator will go miles, especially on the day-of!”
