Holi Powder Fight – White Rock Beach Engagement Shoot

I am fond of these pictures because I have spent much time along this beach – just outside of Vancouver, Canada. In the summer this street is bustling with tourists, ice cream shops, good restaurants and of course a convertible or two making laps up and down the street just to be seen. (You know who you are) I just love it!  Besides reminiscing about past summers, this engagement shoot is quite eye catching in itself, and I now have the sudden urge to want to have a holli powder fight!

“I had SO much fun on Katie and Matt’s engagement session! Not only was it their 2nd year Anniversary of dating that day, but it was also Katie’s Birthday! So, there was a lot to celebrate. Initially when we had talked about what Katie and Matt wanted to do for their engagement session, Matt was thinking food fight! Katie wasn’t super into that idea, we compromised with holli powder. Which made for really awesome photos. We brought the holli powder and multiple props including a TV, popcorn, a ‘happy birthday’ sign and cupcakes (celebrating their 2nd year anniversary) to White Rock Beach and had a fantastic session.”

THE ENGAGEMENT

“When it came time for Matt to propose he had a great idea of hiding the engagement ring in a tea bag! On August 10th, 2012 he took Katie for a walk in the park with a thermos full of his special tea he had made for her. Katie asked him if she could have some throughout the walk, but Matt said (not knowing too much about tea at the time) that it needed to steep for at least 20 minutes. Katie was a little bit curious about what kind of tea Matt had made for her haha. Eventually they sat down and Matt let her have some of the tea and low and behold a beautiful ring was inside the tea bag! Matt proceeded to get on one knee and ask Katie to marry him. Yay!”
