Depart Your Wedding in Style

Nowhere in the bridal planning rule book does it say that you have to take a limo to or from your wedding. In fact, throw the traditional rule book out!  Heck, even Cinderella went to the ball in a blue magical coach. Okay it was really a pumpkin – even her fairy godmother got creative.  Brides and grooms all need to leave the wedding eventually, and traditionally they are the first to depart. Why not make a grand exit and depart your wedding in style? 

 Before I bid you adieu and drive off into the weekend sunset, let’s see a few different modes of transpiration to choose from besides the traditional (*yawn*) white limo.

1) Convertible

Let your hair blow in the wind as you and your new spouse drive off into the night in your convertible.

2) Golf Cart

Or perhaps you are staying at a resort where you simply need a small set of wheels to get back to your hotel room.

3) Good ol’ Nelly

Save your money and dress up your old rust bucket.. I mean, perfectly reliable, good on gas, 5 speed standard transmission, daily commuter that you named Nelly.  (Trust me, mine’s not named Nelly but she will be used on August 15th  for my wedding day too.)

 4) Classic Vintage

If you are fortunate enough to know somebody with a beautiful classic car then there is no better way to depart you wedding.

5) La Bicicletta

The eco friendly option – a bicycle made for two.  Caution: you may need to change into something a little more flexible for this send off.

 6) Cycle Rickshaws

You have probably just been through at least a year of wedding planning, sweat and possibly a few tears.  It is time to take a load off and let somebody else do a little of the work for awhile.

7) Airplane

 8) Canoe

Ditch the planes, trains and automobiles all together and take a romantic canoe ride.  Just don’t make any sudden movements.  Otherwise this magical exit in style might turn into a “trash the dress” photo opportunity.

9) Horse and buggy

A more traditional option, and maybe a little bit over done.  I can definitely see this horse and buggy wedding departure after a church ceremony in a big city.

10) Horse and No Buggy

Forget the buggy all together.  If this is a true country rustic wedding you must “Save a horse, ride the cowboy!” Forgive me, I was looking up songs today for our wedding Dj’s and of course Big & Rich made the list!

12) Farm Equipment

It goes back to the concept of using what you got!  I love this idea especially if your wedding is on a farm.

 13) On foot

Last but not least, the most cost effective way to leave your reception would be on foot. Okay, that would be a little anti climactic. At least you can splurge on what you would have spent renting the vehicle and use it toward the mariachi band that will follow your exit. Now if that isn’t a grand departure, I’m not sure what is!
