Doily Wedding Inspiration Ideas

Last Updated: December 17th, 2023/18 CommentsTopic: WEDDING DECORby Meredith

If you thought doilies were just for your grandma, think again! Doilies are being incorporated into weddings in so many fresh and inspirational ways. Let’s take a look at a few below.

1. The Doily Wedding Dress

Who would have thought a bride could do a handmade gorgeous wedding dress like the one pictured on the left. She literally crocheted every single doily! If you love the look of it but don’t have the talent to DIY it, Lela Rose makes a lovely dress that looks like it’s covered in crocheted doilies too.

2. Doily Decor

There are a million ways to use doilies in your decor–these are just a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing: petal cones, garlands, table runners, and napkin rings.

3. Doily Dessert

On the left, the entire wedding cake design is inspired by doilies. On the right, doily cupcake wrappers are so incredibly easy to DIY!

4. Doily Accessories

Some ideas for doily accessories include a clutch, a DIY ring pillow, and earrings!

I just love the instagram frame as well as the brightly colored bouquets wrapped in black & white. So much inspiration. Wish I could get married again so I could have an awesome wedding. 😉

I came across your page as I was searching for ideas on ways to give new life to doilies (I was recently given an entire box of vintage linens from an auction) and found these dresses to be so breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you so much for posting them!

As a wedding photographer, I like to follow a few wedding blogs because it’s so fun to see what people are doing – the industry is so full of creativity. You’ve been my favorite wedding blog for awhile now. But since I recently got engaged, I love L&L like a gazillion times more than I did before. It’s posts like these (and the reusing wedding items and the non-flower bouquets posts) that make me so grateful for you guys!!!

Doilies have never been my favorite, but these look vintage glamorous. I especially love the wedding dress with the green underneath, I’d wear it for any wedding!

I used to think doilies were old and creepy and during my wedding planning process and looking at vintage doilies I know love them and I love all the uses for them for a wedding.
