Photographer’s Remarks: “While some girls grow up envisioning their wedding, Darrah grew up envisioning a career in paleontology. Thus it was perfectly fitting — once she fulfilled that career goal and found a fellow scientist with whom to spend her life — that the day they tied the knot would come with plenty of dinosaur details!
“Among these were the plush dinosaur their flower girl carried down the aisle and the many DIY dinosaur centerpieces at their reception (which were Dollar Store finds they spray-painted gold), as well as a DIY photo booth featuring dinosaur and paleontology details.
“The bride and groom even did a dance with their bridal party to the song I Am a Paleontologist by They Might Be Giants — leaving no question for any of the guests as to what the day’s theme was!
“And even items that didn’t fit that theme so overtly still had subtle tie-ins. Case in point: The bride’s massive, brightly colored bouquet, which she described as ‘clurassic’ — a cross between classic and Jurassic.”
