Lucy and Phil’s Wedding

We are so excited to share this wedding with you today! There are so many great details. Lucy and Phil met in a college dance class where she tried to hook him up with one of her friends–but it was her that he fell in love with. Five years later on an anniversary trip to Hawaii, Phil popped the big question and of course, Lucy said yes! Considering their love for the beach, they incorporated yellow, aqua, and earth tones as their wedding colors. Their wedding was beautifully photographed by Christine Farah.

The gorgeous flowers included scabiosa pods, chrysanthemums, and orchids. For the bridesmaids, Lucy picked a J.Crew color and asked them to pick out a dress that reflected their own style in that color. The maid of honor wore a flowered dress in a darker shade of teal.

Lucia’s adorable shoes were her something blue. We love these shots!

Lucy and Phil love to travel, so they incorporated wooden boxes filled with love letters, vintage suitcases and antique globes on the guest sign-in table. The programs were “passports.”

To continue the travel theme, Lucia made paper airplanes in the wedding colors and wrote the guests’ names and their table numbers on them. Then she pinned them onto boards covered with maps. We love this idea!

We absolutely love Lucia and Phil’s cake spread, and their adorable bird cake topper!

The reception was held at the Villa del Sol in downtown Fullerton. What a gorgeous location!

Edit: Also, Lydia of Ever Ours pointed out to us that the gorgeous bride, Lucy, is a co-editor of Utterly Engaged and a co-owner of d*lish design!

Chris and Traci’s Wedding

Chris and Traci’s wedding is so stylish and fun! They were lucky enough to have two great photographers: White Haute Photography (who also shot their engagement session) and Ohana Photographers. Both of them did a fabulous job! Chris and Traci got ready at the swanky Standard Hotel in downtown LA, and their ceremony and reception were held at Brunswick Studio. Enjoy!

Traci wore black Stuart Weitzmans, a feather hairpiece, and an awesome black lace necklace. Her bridesmaids all wore different black shoes.

We just did a post on nonfloral bouquets, so we were excited to see that Traci’s was made out of buttons! The guys wore matching button boutonnieres, ordered from Etsy.

We love how the cake plays off of Traci’s necklace.

15 Non Floral Bouquets: Feathers, Wheat, Sola Flowers, and more

One trend we’ve been seeing a lot of lately is brides creating bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces out of objects other than flowers, and we can see why! The results can be stunning, unique, and more budget-friendly. You can make them or order them ahead of time as you like. Best of all, they won’t wilt and you can keep them after the wedding as gorgeous keepsakes!

Emily and Jasen’s Wedding

Emily and Jasen’s wedding took place at the Mohonk Mountain House. The lake setting is so romantic and the photographers of Our Labor of Love did an amazing job!

The wedding sign is so CUTE! We love how it’s a cut out of the bride and groom.

The rowboats add so much to these photos. They are all incredible!

Turns out that having overcast weather on your wedding day is not such a bad thing after all!

Thanks so much Our Labor of Love!

Yellow and Grey Backyard Fall Wedding

Today’s backyard fall wedding was held in the her parents backyard in Euless, Texas.  It is filled with all sorts of personal and thoughtful DIY details that really showcase the couple’s interests.  Kyla and Josh share a passion for bikes and even opened their own bike store.  Most of the decor had a tree theme that was reflected throughout their wedding – from the hand painted signs that her parents made to the button gifts and the cut tree circle cake stands. The Bride and Groom seem like a creative and fun couple and Katherine O’Brien did an amazing job capturing their day!

Josh and Kyla  are in love with children’s illustrations.  They both have tattoos of some of Shel Silverstein’s work, so it was only fitting that they used one of his books as a guest book for people to write wishes, prayers, and hopes!

This necklace had a special significance to Josh and Kyla. It was from Josh’s grandmother who lives in Italy. The inscription means, “This is so you always know that I love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow.” Josh’s grandmother wanted to give the necklace to Kyla to show her love and presence since she couldn’t be at the wedding due to her age.

The fly fishing lures were a meaningful part of the the guy’s boutonnieres. Josh’s grandfather, who passed away a few years ago, taught Josh and all his family how to fly fish. The lures were worn in honor of him.

After the dinner reception they headed into the barn where they served hot chocolate and cider to all the guests.  They had a soul train dancing line and the groom and father had a dance off.  Being so chilly out the bridesmaids all changed from their dress shoes and danced the night away in comfy UGG boots.

The impromptu throwing of the leaves was the photographer’s idea. It made for a perfect grand exit and fit the tree theme.

Lyndenn and Josh’s Wedding

We are excited to share this beautiful wedding with you today. Jonda Spurbeck and Staci Faw did an amazing job capturing all of the little details. Lyndenn and Josh seem like such a fun couple!

We love the aqua blue and red color scheme.

Not only are these leg warmers super cute, but also very practical for a winter wedding in eastern Washington! We also like how the bridesmaids carried clutches instead of bouquets.

We love these shots of them sharing a milkshake at an old-fashioned ice cream shop!

They found these books at an antique store while taking their wedding photos. The covers matched the wedding colors and they were all love stories! How perfect is that?

Thanks Staci and Jonda!

Hunter and Kirsten’s Wedding

There is something about a backyard wedding that seems so intimate and fun, and Hunter and Kristen’s wedding is no exception! Jason and Anna Ball were the photographers, with their second shooter Rachael Earl capturing all the details.

We totally want to be guests at a wedding like this, especially after reading the description on Jason and Anna’s blog:

“This wedding had the makings of everything you would want as a photographer, backyard wedding, vintage styling and a plethora of crazy awesome details. Everything from pie on a stick (seriously!), popcorn stand, a candy stand, corn-on-the-cob and shish kabobs, amazing lighting and a custom home-made backdrop to boot!”

Such a fun shot of all the groomsmen…we also love the next two with the couch!

The homemade backdrop made for an awesome ceremony setting.

See the pie on a stick? We love it!

Looks like everyone had a blast! Thanks for sharing these photos, Jason and Anna.
