The Great Outdoors

In history, literature, art, anywhere man looks for inspiration, you’ll find mystical adventures and voyages around mountainous terrains. We’re thinking The Hobbit, Heidi, The Sound of Music, and more. There are so many great examples.

Maybe it’s the fresh air, the scent of pine, the gentle rustle of the wind through the trees, or all of the above. Whatever the case, a natural mountain-themed wedding lends itself to being a truly unforgettable experience. When nature works with you, great things are bound to happen.

Cover to cover, MunaLuchi showcases multicultural weddings, provides terrific style inspiration, and promotes black event professionals at MunaLuchi Coterie.

10 Fantastic Chalkboard Wedding Invitations (Vintage, Modern & More)

You know those old-time silent movies where Clara Bow and Rudolph Valentino looked into each other’s eyes like they were the only two people on Earth? Then they’d kiss so passionately, just watching them made you weak in the knees?

Chalkboard-style wedding invitations remind me of that classic romance story and that’s why I love them.

They’re also super trendy at the moment, so the diversity of styles and formats from which to choose is incredible. If you like chalkboard-style wedding invitations but aren’t sure they’ll match your aesthetic, think again.

From vintage to modern, whimsical to glam, you’re sure to find a style that perfectly suits your wedding theme.

On-Trend Chalkboard Wedding Invitations

We searched the catalogues for a lovely chalkboard wedding invitations and an array of themes we think are a perfect match.

Whimsical Vintage Wedding Theme

Curly mustaches, waistcoats, and bare-knuckle boxing. Seriously, if your groom and groomsmen aren’t wearing monocles during the ceremony, you’re doing it wrong!

Ok, maybe that’s overdoing it a little, but we do think a touch of whimsy is always a great compliment to a vintage wedding.

A hint of boardwalk carnival fun, complete with cotton candy and saltwater taffy favors, balloons, carousel accents, and lots of vibrant color.

Perfect for this chalkboard-themed wedding invitation suite.

1. Slated Forever Vintage Wedding Invitation

French Quarter Theme

We think chalkboard wedding invitations would pair beautifully with a Louisiana-style French Quarter wedding!

How about a parade down Bourbon Street, complete with a brass band leading to a garden reception? Think slow summer evening complete with a romantic jazz quartet, mint juleps, sundresses for the ladies, and linen shirts for the fellas.

Cajun cuisine, french colonial architecture with Spanish moss, and a splash of voodoo – now that’s my kind of wedding!

2. Alabaster Florals Chalkboard Invitation

Want a Quick How-to Guide for Amazing Wedding Hashtags?

Branding is everywhere. People brand themselves, their pets, their beards — if it garners attention on social media, it’s probably got a hashtag.

We even did an article not too long ago about branding your wedding if you want to have a look. For this article, we’ll specifically present the case for wedding hashtags. #votehashtags2022

There are tons of reasons to create an awesome hashtag specifically for your wedding. We’ll look at some of those, a few trending wedding hashtags for this year, and how to pick a memorable wedding hashtag.

Why Bother With a Wedding Hashtag?

Maybe you’re not a big fan of using hashtags in general. Or maybe you feel like creating one for your wedding comes across as a bit cheesy or the such. We get it. The hashtag certainly has its share of fans and its share of detractors, but hear us out because there are some solid reasons to consider creating the perfect wedding hashtag. Here are our top ones:

  • All of those pictures and communications associated with the event will have one home.
  • Even if you’re going unplugged (like this real wedding did), and have asked your guests to put the phones away for the ceremony, you can still get plenty of mileage out of a hashtag. Ask your guests to use it to tag pics from the bachelor and bachelorette parties, rehearsals, rehearsal dinners, etc.
  • You and everyone else associated with your nuptials will have a quick way to search up info across social media platforms. You’ll get to see stuff ASAIU by your guests. (As Soon As It’s Uploaded… just made that up. Maybe we’ll create a hashtag)
  • Your vendors will also benefit by using your hashtag (unless you explicitly ask them not to) to showcase their work and draw more traffic to their accounts.

How to Use Your Wedding Hashtag

How you want to use your hashtag is up to you, but it’s always a good idea to get it on everyone’s radar early on.

Include it on save-the-date announcements and wedding invites and let them know why you’re using one. Encourage your guests to post shopping or traveling photos for your big day or anything else they think you’ll enjoy seeing.

Also, put it up on your wedding website if you’re using one. Same if you’re using a wedding social media page.

oh snap hashtag wedding sign

Don’t forget to put up a pretty sign for all to see as they arrive at your wedding asking your guests to share photos on social media using your hashtag.

Of course, as we said before, some couples would really rather go unplugged.

If you’ve specified no photos at the ceremony but are still using a hashtag for other pictures and communique, put up a creative sign with your hashtag at the reception. Let them know that now’s the time for your guests to snap away!

7 Tips For Creating Wedding Hashtags

OK, we’ve convinced you to say ‘Yes’ to the hashtag. Now it’s time for the fun part – coming up with personalized wedding hashtags that you love! There are so many ways to create a hashtag. You could go punny, funny, romantic – whatever you think suits your couple vibes and wedding best.

Here are a few tips on how to find the perfect hashtag match for your upcoming nuptials:

1. Use a Hashtag Generator

Using a wedding hashtag generator is fine as long as you don’t mind if it’s kind of generic. Lots of sites offer free hashtag idea generators. A quick google search will do the trick.

2. Consult The Pros

Using a service specializing in creating a unique hashtag just for you is a fantastic way to get it right. We like Wedding Hashers a lot. Their motto is “Your Slogan For Life,” which hits home pretty hard when you think about it.

This will be yours for life. It’ll be out there on the web for who-knows-how-long well after your special day is over. Think anniversaries, baby announcements, all that stuff. You just never know. It’s very possible at some point you’ll wish you had created a catchier hashtag.

wedding hashtag wood sign

3. Make It Personal, Make It Memorable

Do use your names in the customhashtag. People will need those to find you.

Don’t do inside jokes or phrases or places or stuff like that. Not everyone’s gonna know what that means, and not everyone’s gonna be able to find you.

Of course, making it something easy for your guests to remember is important! Not only because it’s easier for them to find, but if it’s also memorable, people are more likely to use it more often.

4. Make It Easy To Spell

If you’re marrying someone with a name that’s hard to spell, it’s entirely likely people won’t end up using it. (Unless it’s their last name too!). Find a way to either shorten it, make it catchy, or use something else instead, like your wedding date or first names.

5. Make Sure It Isn’t Already Taken

Do a quick Google, Insta, Twitter, Facebook, whatever search you can think of to determine if your hashtag has already been claimed. If it has, you run the risk of getting someone else’s wedding photos (and someone else getting yours).

wedding hashtag barrel sign

6. Don’t Get Too Dated

Pop culture references seldom age well, so if you’re thinking about using a meme, give it a second thought. While they’re super cute right now, if they’re integrated into your hashtag, they might go stale in a year or even sooner. Like, before your actual wedding day!

7. Incorporate Numbers To Stand Out

If you can, use the date of your engagement or when you met. That’ll go a long way toward making your hashtag unique and minimize the chances of accidentally stealing someone else’s.

Example Trending Hashtags (2022)

So. Many. Hashtags! We could include them all here, but then we’d have the equivalent of a book of hashtags and nobody wants that. So here are a few to give you an idea of how you can incorporate one or many hashtags into your wedding celebrations – from the engagement to the big day!

Engagement Examples

Basic Examples – For any of these examples, the bride and groom’s first names can and should be incorporated into the hashtag. If you use onr as is (i.e. not a personalized wedding hashtag), be aware that you’ll end up in loads of hash tag searches along with a gazillion other couples.

#bridetobe

#dreamring

#engaged

#futurewife

#imengaged

#shesaidyes

#wegettingmarried

#husbandtobe

Cute and Catchy Examples – You can create a cute and clever hashtag with alliteration, no big deal.

Here are a few ideas to get your wheels turning:

#FallingForFallon

#YesToYarborough

#WeddingWithWilson

#SmittenWithSanders

#WildAboutWong

#ReadyForReynolds

Funny Examples – If you’re gearing for an engagement hashtag that’s going to get some laughs, here are a few examples:

#AboutTime

#TwoLessFishInTheSea

#MatrimonyAhead

#TheRingHasLanded

Popular Wedding Examples

If you can, integrate the couple’s new last name. If the bride isn’t taking the groom’s name, you can use both of your last names in the hashtag.

Clever (Read: Punny!) Hashtags – Here are a few from Weddinghashers.com that we thought were an especially awesome hashtag idea.

#ForThePerezOfOurLives

#TheHeissIsRight

#LockStockAndCarroll

#AwwSchucks

#JamaicanMeAWallace

#IDoWithChoo

See what we mean? These are so much more memorable and catchy, and because they’re so fun, these couples will have no trouble getting wedding guests to use their hashtags.

Great Ways To Display Your Wedding Hashtag

There is so much swag associated with throwing a wedding. Every piece is a fantastic opportunity to display that hashtag!

Begin at the Beginning

We mentioned it earlier, but it bears repeating. If you want to get your hashtag out there sooner rather than later, include it on your save the dates and invites.

Don’t forget to put it up on your wedding website. Invite your wedding guests to use it whenever they’d like to document a moment. For instance, when shopping for your gift or a dress to wear to the wedding.

rustic wedding sign with hashtag

At the Place Settings

Include a cute card with your place setting or on your seating cards reminding your guests to take photos and use your wedding hashtag when posting them.

Props in the Picture Booth

Along with the goofy masks and fun accessories, include signs they can hold up with your hashtag printed on it.

Programs

If you’re using a program board or a paper program for your guests to follow, include your hashtag with the info!

The Bar Menu

When guests come up to the bar, might as well remind them about where to post photos of all the fun they have after downing a curated wedding cocktail.

Use a wedding hashtag sign such as this chalkboard menu.

chalkboard wedding menu sign with hashtag

The Dinner/Buffet Menu

Same concept – whether you’re posting a chalkboard menu or providing menus at each place setting, it’s a great place to post your hashtag.

Guest Book

It’s so much fun to revisit your guest book down the road. You will reminisce over who came to celebrate your big day and re-read the cute notes they wrote there. It’s also prime real-estate to plant your hashtag.

Welcome Bags/Wedding Favors

Any gifting opportunity is an excellent opportunity to reiterate your hashtag. It doesn’t have to be printed on your favors (unless you really want to). A simple card attached or enclosed will do just fine.

#HopeYourWeddingROCKS!

If you’re in the process of planning your wedding, do yourself a favor and designate a hashtag for the big day (if you haven’t already). It’ll make your life so much easier.

Your guests will thank you for it too. After all, your wedding is quite personal, but it’s also meant to be shared with your loved ones. Chances are, they’ll probably show up in some of those photos and mentions.

At any rate, congratulations! Enjoy your day and all of the fun memories you get to share for years to come.

When Money Is No Object

Often when you’re thinking about gifts to give the man who has everything, inevitably, outrageously expensive things come to mind. So here are some ideas you may or may never get to give him, but it’s fun to dream anyway right?!

  • How about designing his own Rolex? Or gold plating random stuff?
  • You can create and trademark his own holiday or erect a billboard letting everyone know how rad he is.
  • Buy him an outrageously expensive bottle of rare vintage wine. Or a really high scoring Napa Valley bottle from one of my favorites – winery such as Stags Leap.
  • Give him racing lessons from a pro racecar driver or soccer lessons from a pro.

We just wanted to throw these ideas out there, because they sound fun and honestly, sometimes a crazy-wild idea can inspire other, more budget-friendly gift ideas!

Surprising Him Is Awesome

Well, we think that just about covers it.  All we can say is have your phone ready for the photo-op, the man who has everything is about to have his world rocked.

Good job, gift-giver. Good job.
