A Midsummer Night’s Dream Wedding Theme Vision Board

A midsummer night’s dream wedding in the eyes of Love & Lavender would consist of touches of navy blue, pinks, oranges and phthalo green. Announce the magical soiree by sending guests a whimsical wild flower crest wedding invitations from Minted. It will set the tone perfectly and give guests a sneak peak to the main .

The beautiful bride would wear a Ava tulle skirt  gown from BHLDN adorned with tiny organza and silk flowers that dance over the tulle skirt to provide a romantic whimsical feel. The bride would style her hair to the side in a loose messy braid resting on her shoulder, finishing the look with flower hairpins. Of course no midsummer look would be complete without a sweet pair of orange heels.

Bridesmaids would wear loose, mismatched dresses in shades of navy blue and phthalo green. Full bouquets made up of eucalyptus, large orange roses, and pink peonies (everyones fav!) would be held.

For the wedding ceremony backdrop, cover the arbor in an overflowing statement of flower beauty. The sun will shine on this outdoor summer wedding, so make sure your guests have a way to shade themselves with pretty pink and orange parasols.

A fun and whimsical theme such as this deserves some illusions: use hanging lights, lanterns hung from trees, and floating furniture. Pass on the floral table centerpieces; instead use hanging flower baskets over the reception table to create an interesting visual and have your guest talk for years to come.

Our midsummer night theme naturally gives off a casual feel.  Create some intimate lounge areas by using some of our favorite Versailles Chair from Restoration Hardware and allow guests to mingle. Or better yet, stick with the whimsical feel and rent a floating bed for guests to lounge on after hours of dancing the night away.

Keep the decor simple: this wedding is more about a few larger visual pieces (overflowing flowers, floating center pieces or a beautifully lit lantern dance floor) than it is about endless small nik-naks. When in doubt, add more white light, lanterns and candles!

After all is said and done, your guests can look back and feel like they have just woken up from a wonderful dream!

This is a fresh color palette I would never have thought of. The navy really pulls it together and that ombré ruffle cake is divine!
