Affordable Country Wedding in North Carolina
Country weddings have a style all their own! We love this beautiful and affordable country wedding photographed by Melissa Tuck Photography. Not just because it is a country wedding, but also because of the diy details and personality that Jenna and Harrison put into it.
Bride’s Remarks: “If you ask any of our friends and family how they would describe Harrison and I independently as well as our relationship, I think many of them would agree on some variation of the term ‘different’ or ‘unique.’ And so, we wanted our wedding day – the celebration of our unique and loving union – to reflect just that.”
What was an important aspect to include on your wedding day?
“In addition to wanting to reflect the uniqueness of our personalities and our relationship, we also felt it was very important to reflect some local flair, especially given how much we love the Asheville area. Much of the food served at our reception was locally sourced. We served a local beer from the French Broad Brewery (success from our research tour!) and our flowers were all grown on a local farm in Old Fort, NC just outside of Asheville.”
What were the main success factors for your wedding planning process?
“We can honestly say that we loved nearly every moment of our wedding planning. From our local brewery tour, to picking out dog accessories and food tastings, we loved it all. We made a deal when we first started planning that if at any time, for any reason, we got stressed, frustrated or anxious, we would take a step back to re-assess the importance of whatever was provoking those emotions. Then, either approach it differently or scratch it all together. Sticking to that policy was the key to our success and fun.”
What advice can you offer for brides-to-be?
“If I could give one piece of (clearly unsolicited) advice to any future brides-to-be it would be to just enjoy the ride. Enjoy being engaged. Enjoy some time not planing a wedding. And then, enjoy the planning. Try hard to embrace others’ opinions when desired, but don’t be afraid to ignore them and follow your own creativity. Don’t get bogged down in the very little things – I promise, none of the guests will remember or maybe even notice how many votive candles are on the gift table so it’s really not worth stressing over. And most of all, take deep breaths. Take a step back and take a moment to acknowledge all that you have to be grateful for in the present and to look forward to in the future. Enjoy the ride. It’s as much fun as the final destination.”
