Family Reunion Style Wedding at West Manor Estate
The first thing that caught our eye from this wedding was the amazing shoes – they are TOMS but they’re hand painted! Amanda and Scott had a beautiful wedding at West Manor Estate, with some unique details and a picturesque location! We love their vases, wood signs, and fabulous attire.
Here is what Amanda had to say about her wedding:
“During the planning process, my husband, Scott, and I were inspired by our relationship. We are a fun-loving and laid-back couple with strong family roots and we wanted that to be reflected throughout the day. We wanted our wedding to feel like a giant family get together and we pulled out all the stops to make it happen!
“To ensure all of our 150 guests felt like they were a part of our new family, we took advantage of our beautiful venue and created a whimsical ‘family reunion style wedding atmosphere’. During cocktail hour our guests mingled in the front lawn, playing yard games and snacking on popcorn. Then we carried the theme into dinner, offering fried chicken and waffles, served family style of course!”
Favorite Details
“My absolute favorite detail was our custom TOM’s shoes that we got hand-painted by a talented college freshman. The colorful floral design was inspired by the bow tie we picked out for Scott and they also donned our wedding date, a doodle of my engagement ring and even lobsters – a nod to our love of all things nautical. I also cherished the fabric bouquets and boutonnieres that my family helped me hand-sew for our bridal party and of course we had fun gathering the spray-painted wine and beer bottle centerpieces that were left over from celebrations during our engagement. Another touch that meant a lot to me was having my two college roommates wear blue dresses to beautifully represent my something blue. Having the two women that helped shape me into the woman I am today be my something blue was way more meaningful to me than having any blue keepsake.”
Advice from the Bride
“One of the best decisions I made while planning our wedding was investing in a quality photographer. The day goes by so quickly and is filled with so much emotion, that it is easy to forget the important moments you can’t live without. When I booked Korie Lynn, with Korie Lynn Photography, I knew without doubt that she would capture those timeless moments and do it so beautifully. It was a weight lifted off my shoulders and for a bride that spent so much invested time planning for this day, that means the world!”
