Champagne Fountain & Art Deco Wedding in NY

Last Updated: March 10th, 2021Topic: REAL WEDDINGSby Meredith

Its Wednesday and a short work week, cheers to that! How fitting that there was champagne served at this art deco wedding. That is exactly what drew me to this gorgeous Long Island wedding, I love the look of a champagne fountain.  You rarely see them done anymore with the exception of maybe a formal night on a cruise ship. So it brought back some great memories for me.  A champagne fountain adds a touch of elegance and glamor to a reception and the effect is  perfect especially is you are having a champagne toast.

Art Deco Wedding~ Photographer Remarks

“Jill and Josh were married at The Foundry, a gorgeous, historic metal factory in Long Island City. The building was a working 19th Century Foundry which has been meticulously restored to retain its industrial character with brick, iron, and glass details.”

Comments from Jill, the bride: “When it comes to our wedding style, we really loved the idea of an art deco/1940’s feel for the wedding, but we also wanted it to be simple and personal. We had fun adding the personal touches like my grandma’s gooey butter cake, cocktails named after people we love, and then bringing New York City into the mix by making our own Chuppah. It began hanging over us, and then we attached balloons that turned it into the NYC skyline as our backdrop with the Empire State building and Chrysler building. Our friends Lloyd and Michael made the design of the Chuppah possible, and Josh and I spent two full Saturdays painting it!”

“The industrial style felt very modern when paired with black and white chevron dinning tables and a graphic black and white representation of the skyline. A sophisticated elegance finishes off the looks with calla lilly centerpieces.”

“Although this was a winter wedding and we had lots of snow on the ground, the Foundry has rooms full of natural light and brick walls with growing ivy that give an outdoor feel while being indoors.”
