Board Game Theme Wedding Ideas

We both love playing games, and we think they can be fabulous inspiration for a wedding. Here are some of our favorite ideas that we hope inspire you!

    1. Seating cards

Use game pieces like dominoes and checkers to designate the tables, via The Knot and Style Me Pretty.

    2. Board Game Theme Cake

We love how the cake on the left even has chess boards as the base! Photos via The Knot and Kate Harrison.

    3. Board Game Boutonnieres

We have a thing for nonfloral boutonnieres, and these ones are especially cute! They would be perfect for a Candy Land, dominoes, or poker themed wedding! via Wedding Chicks, BrideTide and Fritts Rosenow.

    4. Board Game Wedding Favors

Personalized decks of cards would be perfect for a poker theme, via Austin Gros. It would be extra cute if the number corresponds to the age you were in the picture, via Martha Stewart. Play off of Monopoly with “Chance” lottery tickets via Wedding Bee, or make personalized  magnets with scrabble pieces via Project Wedding!

    5. Scrabble Tiles

Using scrabble tiles in weddings is quite the trend right now–for good reason! They are just so cute and versatile. Look for used Scrabble games at thrift stores.

    6. Chess Pieces

With it’s iconic game pieces and bold black and white palette, chess is a great place to draw inspiration from.

    7. Puzzles

Although technically not a “game,” we think puzzles deserve a spot on the list. We like the symbolism of two pieces fitting together perfectly–it seems so appropriate for a wedding!

Puzzle piece menus, via The Knotty Bride, would get the conversation rolling at each table.

Puzzle Invitation. Send guests unassembled puzzle pieces that form your invitation or save the date, via Etsy. Or, create a simpler version that links together the invite and rsvp card, via The Sweetest Occasion.

Don’t you think a game-themed wedding would be super fun?
