Lavender Field Wedding in California
We are suckers for a lavender field wedding. From the moment we saw the venue of this wedding, we were smitten! Then there were all the cute DIY details and the pretty ceremony site, with logs topped with baby’s breath lining the aisle. So pretty! Perfect inspiration for an outdoor summer wedding – on a budget, too!
Comments from the Bride: “Peter and I met our first day of high school but we did not start dating until our senior year. Despite being long distance for 10 years and almost the entirety of our relationship, we supported each other through the good and bad times and became better friends for it. Throughout our long engagement, I was in Cleveland while he was in Los Angeles. As both of our families were in Southern California, we knew our wedding was going to take place there too. Being on a budget and not being able to be in Los Angeles, I had to trust Peter to scope out sites with the vague idea of an ‘outdoor wedding.’ We were really fortunate to stumble across Highland Springs Resort and fell in love with the beautiful lavender fields!”
“As two graduate students deep in debt, we knew we had to be careful with our budget, but still wanted to add lots of personal touches to our wedding. As the more creative half and an architecture student with access to lots of toys, I left the design of the invitations and construction for our wood decor pieces to him. I took on the decorations and I knew I wanted to keep it simple and rustic to complement the beautiful venue. I used several wedding blogs and Pinterest for ideas and found easy DIY ideas to accomplish the overall look. After spending hours in thrift shops and craft stores, my friends and I were able to make all the decor for the ceremony, reception tables, dessert table, ring bearer pillow and cake topper. We were also able to save a lot of money going to the LA flower market and prepping all the flowers the night before the wedding. Although stressful at the time, I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out!”

That cheesecake is amazing! I never would have guessed it was one except I could read the sign! What is it on the outside? It almost looks like a cake rolled in a pretzel or something! I want to eat it! It looks wonderful! LOL
