San Miguel Allende Destination Wedding
I love exploring historic cities and learning about new cultures. This romantic destination wedding was a home run because it features both! After attending a friends wedding in San Miguel de Allende, this lovely pair couldn’t resist the cultural charm and decided to have their ceremony there as well.
Alicia Vilar of San Miguel Weddings pulled this elegant wedding off without a hitch and nom de plume Photography captured it all.
Comments from the Bride: “Joel and I got engaged in Machu Picchu and that joy of spending time in an old world town has never left us. Our first trip together was to San Miguel de Allende for my friend’s wedding. No other town would better represent my culture than this colonial town in the heart of Mexico, so abundant in history and art.
“When the time to plan our wedding came, we wanted to celebrate with our friends and family in a way that represented us. We wanted to find for a place that was dear to us, yet wonderful and new for our guests, where we could celebrate in a grand yet intimate manner. We looked far and wide from Campeche to Big Sur, yet nothing was able to match the romantic combination of San Miguel Allende.
“Our wedding party gifts, silver cufflinks and bracelets with engravings depicting ‘La Parroquia’ and were custom made by a local artist Abelardo Gil.“
“Our inspiration came from a blend of traditional, cultural and contemporary elements. Our goal was for our wedding to feel traditional and have our fingerprint on every detail of the event. We looked far and wide for sustainable products that had an organic look. For wedding favors and place card holders, we sourced souvenirs from local artisans in San Miguel. Our wedding coordinator, Alicia Vilar from San Miguel Weddings took meticulous care of everything. Mr. Seo from Shin Bu Bridal worked with me to design my dress for over a year.“
“Something beautiful comes out when you trust talented people and combine it with loving friends and family to celebrate with. The day came and we enjoyed every part of the experience. Our plans came to life and as we were dinning we looked around and thought, ‘We couldn’t have asked for anything else, and it actually is even more than what we could have ever anticipated!'”

Meredith
Despite her dreamy wedding blogger lifestyle, Meredith's day job is running ClassicVeils.com and a full-time mom to an active toddler. If she could, Meredith would spend her days taking cruises, helping animals in need, and watching Big Brother!
Just beautiful! The black and white photos remind me of the Godfather wedding! Love them!
