Easy Custom DIY Cloth Napkins for a Wedding or Event

Last Updated: October 10th, 2022/3 CommentsTopic: WEDDING DECORby Meredith

When I say these DIY custom cloth napkins are easy, I mean easy! In fact, they are so simple and cheap to make that you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of it yourself 😉

You can customize the napkins with whatever words or images you want. Use them as place cards for your guests’ with each person’s name, or keep it simple with one word like the example below.

I can think of other great color combinations besides simple blue, something like gold and black might do for a DIY glitzy wedding. Or perhaps you fancy a grey and yellow color scheme that go so well together. Whatever the case, stick with one solid color or create your own design by using more than one color!

  • Parchment Paper

Step One

After heating up your hot glue gun and cutting a piece of parchment paper write a word with your glue gun onto the parchment paper. If you want a certain font or a fancy design print it off your compute and slide it under the parchment paper then trace with the glue gun.

Step Two

Wait for the glue to dry then peel it off—it’s should come off easily.

Step Three

Use the dry glue word as a stencil. Simply put it onto your cloth napkin (flat side down) and paint over it. Remove the glue stencil and there you have it!

Follow the directions of your fabric paint for length of drying time before washing the cloth napkins.
