When it comes to getting ready for a night on the town with some girl friends, inevitably I feel like it always turns into a mad scramble to get ready, followed by a mad dash out the door.  After getting ready, we girls never seem to have a moment to sip a glass of wine before proceeding to the evening events. I believe the same is true for the entire week leading up to a wedding. Where does the time go? Even though you plan for months and have a checklist that you double check, the last week creeps up out of nowhere.  I hope other brides understand what I am saying, or maybe I need to go take a better time management class! I know I am not singularly alone; today’s bride experienced the same scenario doing last minute necessities right up to the finish line.

Lisa & Brandon

Their Story

Photographer Comments: “Despite a weather forecast that predicted nothing but rain, the sun shined down on Lisa and Brandon’s Quad Cities wedding day. Lisa, Brandon, and their wedding party gathered at the historic Quarters One mansion located on the Rock Island Arsenal base to get ready for the day’s festivities. The setting fit perfectly with their vintage themed wedding.” “The bride and groom met each other outside on the mansion’s front porch to have a moment together before the ceremony. The Bride’s gold sequined dress reminded me of old Hollywood glamor. Her gold sparkly shoes added even more bling to the ensemble. And did I mention she sewed her own veil together only hours before the ceremony? Talk about DIY!” “The bride made quite the entrance to the ceremony – she pulled up in one of her father’s vintage cars. She then made her way to the groom, who was waiting for her under a big old oak tree. Friends and family gathered around to watch the happy couple exchange vows and to officially become husband and wife. Guests tossed gold confetti on the couple at the end of the ceremony.” “Before leaving to the Abbey Station, the wedding party members hopped inside the many vintage cars and guests followed the bride and groom in a processional to the reception. The bride and her friends and family assembled the reception decor. The bride even frosted her own cake the morning of the wedding day! It doesn’t get much more DIY than that. Guests enjoyed a cigar table where they could roll their own freshly made cigars. Gold linens, flowers and blush accents were every where to be found.”

Every detail of this wedding is exquisite and looks vintage. I love the cigar bar and those gold doily cones, so beautiful!
