This super cute couple – whose personalities really shine through in these photos – had only two months to plan their Veterans Day (11/11/13) wedding. The thoughtfulness of strangers provided Sam and Thera a completely free wedding, valued at roughly $22,000.  Operation Marry Me Military is  a charity that donates weddings to active duty military couples.  The best wedding professionals in the city came together to donate their services and make this elegant superhero shoe themed wedding possible.

Inspiration for a shoe themed wedding

Sam and Thera often argue who is better: Batman or Superman. They worked this into their wedding through their shoes. Did you ever think you would see a bride in Batman sneakers?!? I Love it! Thera wore a Batman garter, while Sam wore Superman sneakers.

Groomsmen

Nothing like being a celebrity in your own town – four TV stations and two newspapers covered the event.

Groom

Sam is an eight year veteran of the Marines and is stationed in Jacksonville, NC. The lovely couple has known each other since they went to middle school together in Michigan. Thera moved to North Carolina to take a chance on a relationship with Sam, which was a chance that clearly paid off.
