Their Story

This is such a fun engagement shoot idea! In fact, I can’t get enough of it! I love that it is simple, but still really fun and unique. Here is what B Street Photo said about the session: “For Hilary and Steven’s engagement session, we decided to go all out and do a styled shoot.  We were going for a bit of a tribal look.  Once we had a theme in mind, my first thought was, “I need to make a teepee!”  So I did 🙂  It was actually pretty easy to make the teepee structure.  Making the draping, on the other hand, was no simple task.  I used lace for the draping to give it a feminine look.  Although the draping was challenging to make, it came together really nicely in the end.” “Since we had a teepee, we wanted the rest of the styling to be very simple.  We used a couple of red canisters (from Ikea) to hold our floral arrangements, which consisted of billy balls and maroon sunflowers.  We set these on top of a tree stump with a moose antler and camping lantern.  In keeping with the tribal theme, Hilary wore a feather in her hair.  This tribal look was also incorporated into the invitation suite by use of geometric shapes and arrows.”
