Vintage Travel Themed Wedding

Do you like travel? Do you like a touch of Vintage?

If you answered yes to both of those questions then you are going to LOVE this vintage travel themed wedding!  Although this was a “destination wedding” for the bride and groom, they pulled out all the stops for their guests to make sure they were fully entertained for the week leading up to the wedding.

Hmmm, I’m thinking I may need to make some new friends.  Ones that are getting married, preferably south and somewhere hot and cater to flying their guests in for a fun filled getaway.

This wedding was captured by Atelier Pictures who has quite the eye for taking incredible shots, especially of the bride and groom outdoors.  Take a look!

Photographer’s Remarks: “Vintage travel was the theme for this wedding and an appropriate one at that.  Every guest was flown in from around the world.

“The bride and groom currently reside in Oman in the Middle East, but plan to move to Oregon in a few years. They wanted to spend the week prior to the wedding exploring and discovering the beauty that Oregon has to offer.

“A few of the activities scheduled for the guests were tours of the Columbia Gorge on the Sternwheeler, a day at Timberline and Mt. Hood adventure park, another day exploring Hood River and of course visiting all the wonderful wineries and restaurants the area has to offer.

“In the end, both bride and groom agreed that the intimate destination wedding with 40 of their closest friends and family was exactly what they had been hoping for.”

Message in a bottle.  Write a personalized thank you message to each guest and leave it on the table at their place setting. The bride and groom had collected the sand from a beach in Oman making it even more special and personal.

An ice sculpture! What a neat idea and a complete surprise for guests when they walk into the reception.  Hey better yet, have an ice carving competition for your guest!

“Peacocks are a very important symbol to the groom’s family and touches of peacocks were incorporated through out the wedding.  A 4 foot tall peacock ice sculpture was the centerpiece for cocktail hour. Peacock feathers were atop each guests menu for dinner and during the reception the groom’s family presented the newlyweds with a peacock drawing that will hang in their home.”

“This wedding was all about details to make the guests feel welcomed. As they arrived to their hotel rooms they were welcomed with a gift basket of local fruits, berries and an itinerary for the week. They were treated to a week full of events that allowed each guest to spend ample time with the bride and groom.  They also wanted to make sure that the groom’s children felt that this wedding was for them too. They were each sculpted on the wedding cake from different travels they had taken together.”
