How to Straighten your Teeth at Home for the Perfect Wedding Day Smile!
** This post is sponsored **
After getting engaged, I realize there are many photo opportunities during the wedding process – engagement selfies, an engagement party, a bachelorette party, showers or the wedding itself. In fact, a survey commissioned by Invisalign® in March 2014 and conducted by Wakefield Research found that an average bride will take 342 photos documenting her big moments from “yes” to “I do.”
That’s a whole lotta’ photos! And since the photos will be a great keepsake to look back on, you want to make sure you put your best smile forward.
7 Tips for the Perfect Wedding Day Smile
#1 Exfoliate: If you have chapped lips, your best bet is use a damp toothbrush nightly and lightly brush away the dead skin. Then use a limp balm to moisturize.
#2 Moisten: Before the photo is taken, run your tongue along the font of your teeth so that your lips wont stick to your teeth or gums – your teeth will sparkle!
#3 Apart: Try and smile with your teeth slightly apart. It will look more natural in the photos and less like a forced smile.
#4 Lip Color: Wear a creamy lip color that has a bit of sheen to it. The color will reflect the light and make your smile look brighter. If you wear a matte finish lip color this can end up looking darker because it will absorb the light.
#5 Show off your pearly whites: I have been known to smile with my tongue sticking out between my teeth. When getting your photo taken, try to make sure your tongue is pushed back and out of the picture.
#6 Head Tilt: Faces are not symmetrical, so you want to find the perfect tilt position of your head and try not to look straight at the camera. Take a few moments to practice smiling in front of the mirror – practice makes perfect!
#7 Straighten your teeth: Invisalign clear aligners are a discreet way to straighten your teeth and are an alternative to the harsh silver wires and braces that you might have experienced as a child. For a bride-to-be, this is a great option that can boost your confidence from the first day of treatment. The process is quite easy: a series of virtually invisible, removable aligners made of lightweight plastic that will gradually move teeth over time.
