Woodsy Portland Wedding with Donut Wedding Cake

Last Updated: March 11th, 2021/6 CommentsTopic: REAL WEDDINGSby Meredith
A beautiful Portland wedding complete with a donut wedding cake, a Sarah Seven dress, and gorgeous photography by Tyler Branch! Could you get any better? We think not. Megan and Brandon made great choices on every aspect of their beautiful wedding, starting with the venue – the backyard of a family friend’s home.

Woodsy Portland Wedding ~ Bride’s Comments

“The thing I loved so much about the venue we chose was the simple beauty. I wanted to work off of that and do small details that would make all the difference, from the lace linens to the lights strung by family members. I love light shades so I chose to do ivory and grey as our colors with coral in the flowers. It went so perfectly with the natural beauty of our venue.”

“I wore a bracelet that was my grandmother’s (something old) and earrings that belong to my mother (something borrowed). Other meaningful details include when my husband’s brother got up and played and sang a song for us on his guitar, it was so sweet.”

“After doing our first look we wandered into downtown Portland with Tyler and Katie Branch to do some portrait shots. There was this moment as we stood hand in hand looking at our photographers and the dozens of people watching when it all of a sudden became real for both of us. We loved sharing a moment together where we both just realized we were about to become husband and wife.”

Advice for Future Brides

“Choose a photographer you love! Picking Tyler Branch as ours was the best decision we made for our wedding! Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone when it comes to picking a venue. You don’t have to get married somewhere that doesn’t provide linens or tables and chairs. You can work around all of that stuff. Get creative! If you absolutely love a location for your wedding but don’t know how to make it work, think outside the box! It will be so worth it.”
