Today’s Top 5 Invite Post looks at that one-of-a-kind bird that has captivated poets, artists, and even chefs for centuries — the peacock. Is it any wonder that bride’s also covet the iridescent blues and greens as well as the allure of the peacock feather for their own big day?
Apparently the peacock is the male of the peafowl; the peahen the female. I want to say I knew that somewhere in the recesses of my mind, but thanks for the refresher course Wikipedia!
Here is a photo I took of a peacock in southern Ireland, strutting his stuff on a stone wall at Johnstown Castle. Lucky for me, he seemed to be used to people and didn’t mind having his photo taken. I was hoping for one of those amazing shots with the full plumage, but it didn’t happen.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the best peacock themed wedding invites we’ve come across that are sure to ruffle a few guests’ feathers!
