Safari Themed Wedding: Giant Giraffe Statue Backdrop Optional

Last Updated: March 15th, 2021/36 CommentsTopic: REAL WEDDINGSby Meredith

We are seriously obsessed with today’s safari themed wedding! From the bride’s amazing custom-made ruffle dress to the fabulously unique safari theme complete with giant giraffes, this wedding is absolutely dripping with style.

Laura’s vision for her wedding was a fusion of her love for Anthropologie and the couple’s honeymoon location of South Africa (we are very jealous!). With these elements in mind, she planned an exotic safari wedding held at the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens.

Even the threat of rain couldn’t dampen their spirits. In fact, we think all the colorful rain boots and umbrellas make for some pretty darn cute photos!

And speaking of photos, we can’t think of anyone who could have captured this better than Sara of Onelove Photography. Enjoy!

This dress may just be our most favorite – ever. The ruffles, the sweet bow in the back, and the fact that it was handmade by Parker’s aunt!

All of the bridesmaids wore vintage dresses from Etsy. Laura’s three sisters wore different colorful ones, and all the rest of the bridesmaids wore black.

Uniquely patterned and colorful gumboots for bridesmaids and the bride — we approve!

Super cute flower girls. We love the “here comes the bride” wood hearts sign.

What an amazing setting! No worries about the rain when you’ve got a clear umbrella for your wedding to keep you dry.

We adore Laura’s sparkly bolero! Such a stylish way to stay warm for those cool climate weddings.

giant clothespin table numberPin

Laura gathered over 50 vintage tea tins for the flower arrangements and made the tablecloths from burlap she bought in bulk.

The tables were named after animals you might see on a safari. Such a fun idea! We also love the oversized clothespins holding up the photos.

Instead of a wedding cake, Laura and Parker baked over 160 mini-apple pies in mason jars for each guest’s dessert. Here is the tutorial they used to accomplish this dessert feat!

Safari Themed Wedding photobooth backdropPin

We love the elaborate safari themed photobooth! Can you believe they actually had two giant giraffe statues?

Love it! Can someone please have a wedding just like this and invite us?

OH, I LOOOOOOVE this wedding! The wellies are AMAZING! (Especially since my very first pair of Hunter boots (in teal!) came day before yesterday! I love the colors, the stand out colors for the sisters, the black bridal party- “the bridesmaids wore black” sounds catchy doesn’t it? The bridal bouquet is fantastic!

Oh, I feel so … I dunno, EXCITED and… JOYFUL! Over this wedding! 😀 I just want to hug myself and squeal a little. Maybe I’ll go hug the cat. lol
