Secluded Garden Wedding in Raleigh, NC
We know Valentine’s Day was just last week, but we will never get sick of pink and lovey-dovey details! Amy and Adam had an intimate secluded garden wedding that took place in Raleigh, NC. It was just gorgeous! We love that Amy wore a scarf, and the garlands decorating their ceremony venue were made from paint chips–a brilliant idea! Free from the hardware store, and available in pretty much any color you desire.

From Amy: “We wanted to share Raleigh’s unique charm with friends and family through locally loved venues, handmade decorations, and a quirky color scheme”
We chose popular folk and indie songs that we knew most of our friends would recognize, or at least be able to dance to! Our first dance song was “Love and Some Verses” by Iron and Wine. Adam and I saw them perform live in Dublin, Ireland when we first met in 2008. Jacqui Haggerty, the Maid of Honor, is the lead singer of The Fair and the Foul from Greensboro, NC. To recognize her love and support we played their song “Know You” as the last song of the night.
Don’t let a fixed budget or time constraints stress you out – use them as your inspiration! Adam and I were able to put together a dream wedding in five months! Shop Etsy, local design markets, or try your hand at a few DIY projects. You might be amazed at what you are capable of! Also, don’t shy away from asking others for help. The hundreds of paper cranes folded by my brother were a wedding gift enjoyed by everyone on our big day!
My favorite memory is running hand in hand with Adam through the sparklers and riding off in our beautifully decorated rickshaw at the end of the evening. We were able to listen to our favorite songs through the iPod connection in the rickshaw, while tin can clanks and cheers filled the streets behind us. It was absolutely magical.

beautiful!
Beautiful! Love the pale green the bridesmaids are wearing against the bright pink. That rickshaw ride as the getaway car looks like so much fun!
