Whimsical Wedding with Vintage Touches

Last Updated: March 21st, 2021/18 CommentsTopic: REAL WEDDINGSby Meredith

We are ending this week with an amazingly sweet wedding full of DIY details. Tiffany and Brandon wanted an informal, whimsical wedding with vintage touches. Leo Patrone took their wedding up a notch with his fabulous photography!

The invitations are so cute!! This is what the bride had to say about them:

“Our invitations and programs were illustrated by our officiant and good friend Ryan and screen printed on chip board by our best man Joe. My bridesmaids helped me slice, round the corners and assemble the invites with twine. The RSVP card was my favorite part because we asked our guests to give us a thumbs up for yes and thumbs down for no.”

The programs are so unique! And the ceremony cheer flags are a great idea!

Brandon sang his vows to his blushing bride while he, the groomsmen, and the officiant played different instruments. You can see a video at the bottom of this post!

Tiffany and Brandon really value their families and wanted to incorporate them into their wedding day. Tiffany found a small card catalog filled it with moss and then put pictures of their families in them.

Tiffany designed and printed all the table numbers.

Thanks Leo for sharing this beautiful wedding! Here is some more information from the bride:

Any advice for future brides?

Hire a wedding planner. They can help your vision become reality. I didn’t do this and I wish I had.

Hire a videographer. I didn’t do this because I didn’t think I would ever watch a video of our wedding day again, but if I had known what was in store for me, I absolutely would have had someone there to capture our vows. I mean, he SANG and played me a song! But on that same note, I don’t want a 2-hour video of our wedding. I think a short, 10-minute highlight reel would be perfect.

Be very specific in your contracts with vendors and your conversations with vendors. Don’t assume they know what you’re talking about even though they’ve been in the business for years. I didn’t want pink flowers and I got pink flowers.

Be true to who you are and let your personality shine through details. When you worry about pleasing too many people, the day becomes a big rain cloud instead of a bright and sunny day. Your guests are there to celebrate with you, so be sure that your wedding is a true reflection of who you are individually, and as a couple. If your guests can see you are having fun and enjoying the day, they will follow suit.

Splurge on your honeymoon. Brandon and I spent eight days in Tahiti/Moorea and got to stay in a bungalow over the water. We kayaked, swam with dolphins, read, relaxed on the beach and ate! It was an incredible and much-needed vacation.
