Wedding Story & Gallery

Today we’ve got a real Canadian wedding treat, eh! A gorgeous yellow themed wedding at Yellowhead Brewery located in Alberta, Canada. After all, its winter at the moment, so lets dream about a few months from now when the snow starts to melt in the great white north of Canada; yellow is such a wonderfully uplifting color to employ at a rustic wedding. Enjoy!

What were you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
Bride: “Hearing his vows and the food!”
Groom: “Hearing her vows and getting to wear my ring.”

What was your Favorite Moment?
Bride: “Our vows because we wrote them ourselves and also the reception just celebrating with our small group.”
Groom: “After all the planning and preparation just being able to relax and enjoy the day with our close friends and family.”

What was your processional song?
Boys came in to Wrapped Up In You by Garth Brooks, girls came in to I Choose You by Sara Bareilles

What was your first dance song?
Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran

How did you choose your Wedding Theme?
“We wanted simple and nice with a bit rustic — even though I listen to country music I am from the city. I didn’t want something super girly like pink, but I wanted a pop of color that felt bright, happy, and fun. I knew I wanted to do a lot myself, so the simple/nice/rustic theme sort of fit in with that idea.”

“The bridal gown I wore was called Donna from the Maggie Sottero line. I decided to go with ballet flats and wore Tieks in Ballerina Pink.  The bottom of all Tieks are blue, so they were perfect for my something blue. I bought my matching headband and bracelet from WeddingHeadband off Etsy as well.”

Heard of Tieks?

For more info on the popular ballet flats go check out the Tieks Review we wrote.

“The Groom wore light grey pants and vest from Derks.  His tie was from Le Chateau. Cufflinks and watch were his grandpa’s. The groomsmen wore dark grey pants and vests from Derks and ties to match groom.”

“For the bridesmaid’s attire they all wore grey dresses from Sophia Tolli.  I gifted them all shoes from Tieks as gifts from the bride, and the girls brought their own jewelry.”

“For our decors, I bought table covers and made overlays for dessert/gift tables, and then mostly just added flowers around the brewery for decorations. Our wedding favors we gave to our guests were raspberry jam that grew from our own backyard! I bought this adorable wooden elephant cake topper from Cabin on Etsy”

Where did you Honeymoon?

“We spent 5 days in Maui and then another 5 days in Kauai (the groom planned and booked it all!)”
