Wedding Story & Gallery

I am thrilled to share a wedding in Paris situated on the Seine River. Andrew and I were able to cruise down the Seine this past July while taking in Parisian summertime sights, so I can definitely relate to today’s romantic riverboat wedding.

The lovely couple originally eloped in New York City in December, then decided to have their larger celebration back where they first met: Paris. The groom is originally from Austria, but raised for the most part in Paris, while the bride is originally from Iran.

Details from both cultures were fused into the wedding day, such as feeding each other honey after the ceremony for sweet words (an Iranian tradition) and a dance with the cake knife (also Iranian). As well, you will notice in the pics below a cutting of a wood log as the first task as a married couple, which is an Austrian tradition.

As the riverboat departed at the start of the wedding ceremony, the scenery was ever changing throughout the entire night. Elegant French cafes and the Eiffel Tower as a wedding photo worthy background, it was simply Parisian perfection!
