Their Story

An intimate backyard wedding in Palo Alto that reminds me a lot of my engagement party held for my (now) husband and I in my childhood home. It was a beautiful hot summer day, lanterns hung high, white hydrangeas, white tents and passed hors d’oeuvres. It was a memorable upscale backyard party, that should become a yearly tradition! In any event, this wedding was also held at the bride’s childhood home making the venue meaningful and significant. Also, there is no venue rental fee which is a win-win for everyone.

Photographer’s Comments: “I am really excited to share this lovely backyard wedding that took place in California. The bride got ready in her childhood bedroom. It was just too sweet! The bride’s mom did most of the flower arrangements and the reception was held underneath a beautiful tent in the family’s backyard. Their closest family and friends surrounded them with love and it was such an incredible day.”

A Garden Wedding ~ Seattle Wedding Photographer

[…] I would photograph this day over and over again. It was that good and I adore Hilary and Ron that much. For them, it was all about the moments. The moments shared together and the moments shared with the ones they love most. It was natural. It was relaxed. It was good for the soul. I will never tire of hearing personal vows, of documenting falling tears and gentle touches, and smiles. So many smiles. I will never tire of witnessing people’s devotion to one another. It’s just too good. As a Seattle wedding photographer I have the honor and the pleasure of photographing beautiful weddings in the PNW and from time to time I get really lucky and I get to travel and photograph gorgeous weddings in other states. Hilary and Ron were married at Hilary’s childhood home in California. Hilary got ready in the bedroom she used as a little girl with the help of her mom and the ceremony took place in the back yard against a wall of ivy. Guests enjoyed their dinner under a gorgeous white tent and danced under the stars, but for Hilary and Ron, the most important aspect of their wedding was getting to spend as much time as possible with each of their guests and to have their wedding day documented organically.
