We are so excited to be sharing this colorful paper crane wedding that was photographed by one of our favorite photographers – Jodi Miller Photography! I can only imagine the time and dedication that it took to fold all those colorful paper cranes, but they do look neat! Not only was their paper decor eye-catching, all the bright colors that were displayed throughout the day really added to the occasion.
In Japan, the crane is highly esteemed and an ancient Japanese myth says that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. Traditionally the 1000 paper cranes are given as a wedding gift by the father, who wishes a thousand years of happiness and prosperity for the couple.
Origami had a huge part in Abigayle and Mark’s wedding: from their 1000 all-white paper crane ceremony backdrop to their colorful paper crane seating chart. I especially like the handmade details that evidently went into creating this unique wedding day.
