Photographer’s Remarks: “Andrew Banks and Alissa Troutman are literally one of the sweetest couples ever! They met through their jobs at Nationwide Insurance, and there has never been a dull moment for them since! Andrew proposed at their home, and as Alissa likes to say, she was rushing out the door to meet a friend, and Andrew was trying to get her attention by shouting her name. A little frustrated, she finally asked what was so important, only to find him down on one knee! Of course she said yes, and they began to plan their wedding at one of the Harrisburg/Lancaster area’s most gorgeous venues, Ironstone Ranch.
“Ironstone Ranch is unlike any traditional barn venues we’ve ever been to. For one thing, this venue’s owners and managers are the most genuine, caring people you will ever meet! You can just see how much they love the couples they serve. Secondly, this venue is now home to a huge piece of Pennsylvania’s rich heritage, the Star Barn.
“Andrew and Alissa chose to get married in the beautiful gazebo that overlooks the lake, spring house, and the Star Barn Village. With the changing leaves and the picturesque backdrop, it was a wedding that really made a visual impact. One of the fun features that Ironstone offers, is a wagon ride to picturesque spots around the property for bridal party and couple portraits. We really took advantage of this and were able to get some gorgeous shots!
“Some of the sweetest moments of the day were their First Look, Alissa’s grandfather walking her down the aisle, and their first dance as husband and wife. Personal touches that we loved included the charm in memory of Alissa’s brother that hung from her bouquet and a memory table featuring an album of old portraits. We also loved the burgundy/navy jewel tone color scheme as it really complimented the fall foliage well. All in all, it truly was a magical wedding day!”
“The Star Barn is recognized all over the nation, as through the years it has become one of the most photographed and most artistically rendered barns in America. Built in 1877, the Star Barn features a Gothic Revival-Style. As a child I remember craning my neck out the window to get a better glimpse of the unique structure as we passed by it on the highway. Eventually, the once majestic barn began to fall into disrepair before it was purchased and moved to the gorgeous wedding venue that is Ironstone Ranch, where it is being repaired and is currently looking better than ever!”
