Wedding Story

We’re starting off this week with a whimsical wedding photographed by Heather of One Love Photo. We love how the bride, Shaylah, described that her wedding planning inspiration came from the movie Big Fish and that she was thinking of her wedding as “one giant art project.” Despite all the beautiful details, the whole celebration seems so relaxed and grounded. After all, this wedding showcases a bride in a pink cardigan!

The wedding started with a church ceremony in Peabody, Massachusetts and proceeded to a fun reception at a home in Manchester-by-the-sea.

We adore the fact that the bride and groom both wore glasses, and Shaylah is so cute in her pink cardigan.

The ceremony backdrop was so colorful and fun.

We love that bouquet – peonies, ranunculus, all of our favorites.

The reception was held in the living room of a friend’s home. Rather than sticking to wedding traditions like toasts and dances, Shaylah and Jon had a simple, heartfelt party with guests playing cards, putting together puzzles, eating pie, and listening to their favorite records.

The decorations were perfect: paper pinwheels, streamers, and more peonies!

What a sweet and fun wedding! We’ve seen a lot of backyard weddings, but this is the first one we’ve seen that was pulled off so beautifully inside a home. Thanks to One Love Photo for sharing it with us!

“Well-organized whimsy!!” Love, love, love the paper blossoms!! It looks like everybody had a terrific time. I have no doubt this is one wedding where everybody went home wearing big smiles and has been talking about it ever since.

    I’d love to be this couple’s friend… ;+)
