For those who can’t make it across the pond for a destination wedding in a medieval castle (like the one we featured earlier this week), you’ve still got options. Today’s enchanted styled wedding at The Cloisters has us dreaming of Prince Charming riding in on a valiant steed to whisk us away to an every-after fairy tale ending.
The Cloisters
Cloisters Castle was built about 1930 as a 2 1⁄2-story house that is highly picturesque and irregular in elevation, built of large, random-sized blocks of a native gray and gold colored rock. It has the illusion of a European castle complete with knights in shining armor, without the expense of leaving the state of Maryland!
Their Story
Photographer’s Remarks: “When planning this styled shoot, we knew we wanted to put together a unique, elegant, sexy, and fashion-forward styled shoot. The colors we decided on for this shoot were a mix of maroon, dark purple, mauve, green and gold.
“All of the decor, stationery, cake, flowers and even the hair and makeup was done in a timeless, elegant style using these rich colors to compliment the beautiful surroundings at the historic castle.
“And with the beautiful decor, venue, and flowers setting the stage for an amazing shoot, the fashion is front and center here with the bride wearing a sultry, risqué, silver sparkle illusion gown with long elegant feathers custom made by Sheri Autry Couture. This sultry dress is attention-getting and memorable — no illusion there!
“The groom is wearing a custom made suit from Christopher Schaffer Clothier, which complements the brides dress perfectly.”
