Wedding Story
A homemade chalkboard wedding full of chalkboard love. I am a huge fan of chalkboards, in fact in my old house I had a huge chalkboard wall in my dining room. This wedding is full of homemade items that were made with love to create the perfect day for Lindsay and Tyler.
For a change here is what the groom had to say about the day:
“The theme to all of our decorations was rustic and homemade. It couldn’t have happened without the tireless efforts of Lindsay’s mom, Cheryl. She would come up with an idea, run it by us, and take off with it. It also worked the other way, with Lindsay having an idea in her head, she would explain it to her mom over the phone and a couple days later we’d receive an email with a picture of the finished product!
“The wonderful staff at Oceanstone, along with Lindsay’s family, made planning from Ottawa a breeze. By the time we were finally able to visit Halifax, the decorations were complete.
“Lindsay’s Dad, Donnie, was also invaluable through the whole process as he was able to make the ideas come to life with his carpentry skills. From rustic crates to hold the homemade jam, made by Lindsay’s Mom and Grandmother, to the chalkboards that displayed our menu, he truly captured the antique concept we were going with. Donnie and I even managed to put together the ‘Kissing Wheel’ last minute on the Wednesday before the wedding!
Homemade strawberry jam favors make for a great takeaway present for your wedding guests.
Yumm! These cupcakes look simply scrumptious with uniquely designed holders that we love.
