Wedding Story

Today’s engagement shoot reminded me so much of what Christmas Eve should be about: family, friend, playing in the snow, board games, and HOT CHOCOLATE! That and the fact that I am getting excited that Santa is on his way.

I thought it would be fun to post a last minute holiday recipe tradition in my family. Run out and get your last minute ingredients, so that later tonight you can be snuggling up in your soft blanket with this warm drink in hand!

SNOW AND HOT CHOCOLATE RECIPE ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Comments from the photographer: “It had been over 30 days since Northern Arizona had seen even a flake of snow, and we had to keep postponing our session because this, THIS is what we had in mind!  We had to have snow!  Finally, a tiny chance of snow was in the forecast, so we made the trek up to visit these two NAU lovebirds, and we got our wish!  With just a few inches to work with, we were in love with the beautiful, untouched backdrop it created and the incredible light it provided.   Snuggled up with blankets, warm hats, hot chocolate, and each other, Cheyenne and Cody were the perfect subjects.”

THE PROPOSAL

It was a Sunday afternoon and my then boyfriend said we were going to dinner with some friends. Our friends picked us up, but the restaurant we were going to was closed because it was Labor Day. We all decided it would be fun to instead have a picnic at Lake Mary by their house. So we stopped by their house and got the picnic basket and headed for Lake Mary. When we got there, they told us to go find a spot on the dock with the basket and they would catch up with us with some blankets. When we got to the dock, I found a canoe tied up with a note inside that said, “Will you go on this adventure with me?” I was freaking out because at this point I knew it was happening! We paddled to the other side of the lake and got out on the other side. There were tea lights in mason jars hanging from the trees and a blanket near a beautiful tree. We walked over to the blanket where he popped the question! When we paddled back to the dock, tons of friends and family were waiting on the other side for us. It was such a great day!
