Wedding Story
Zach and Jackie went to high school together and were friends then, but went off to college and decided to tell each other about their feelings for one another several years later. When Jackie originally contacted me, I knew immediately that her wedding would be different. She said she would be responsible for designing the custom-made lighting for their reception, and that although it would take place in her family’s barn that it would NOT be rustic, “shabby-chic” or anything remotely close to it. Their wedding invitations and their wax seal featured the “family crest” – which they got sketched by a local artist, Jan Agee. Their wedding day was stunning, with rain sprinkled in here and there for just the perfect amount of luck. The wedding itself was in Demopolis, AL, and the reception was on Jackie’s family’s land just down the road in Gallion, AL. Jackie surprised Zach during their first look. She arranged for it to happen in a small shack on the property that is very special to her. As Zach rounded the corner to see his bride, two musicians in the corner of the shack began playing Jackie and Zach’s favorite song and tears flowed. It was a truly special moment. Her bridal bouquet, as well as all of the bridesmaids’ bouquets, were wrapped in Jackie’s grandmother’s scarves. The reception decor was truly unique. An artist was present at their reception to capture the essence of the party in a painting. I have also included a few images from Jackie’s bridal session, as it was very unique as well. She wanted it to be on her family’s property, and even the family’s cows – some of which have been around since Jackie was a young girl – even joined in on the photo fun.
