Jessica & Jimmy

Mint and Coral Shabby Chic Wedding

Palm Deset, CA

L&L Remarks

I am learning how to make bride and groom cookies today for our wedding favors, and I can’t wait to report back. Depending on the results, I may or may not want to show you my cookie designing talent!

Today’s mint and coral shabby chic wedding was captured by Erica Mendenhall Photography, and I love that the ceremony location was on a bridge.  Plus, the bride is wearing a Maggie Soterro gown, so it is truly a win-win all around.

Wedding Story

Photographer’s Comments: “Jessica and Jimmy’s beautiful May wedding took place at the gorgeous Classic Club Golf, which is famous for it’s course, but also an amazing place for weddings! Earlier in the year we photographed their engagement session there as well.

“Their wedding style was a mix of DIY, vintage (her gown was a gorgeous cream tone with detailed lace), and luxury – given it’s venue location. As a hairstylist and makeup artist herself, Jessica styled her own hair and makeup as well as many of the Bridesmaids.

“The hashtag #1eyewedding was used throughout – the history behind that is actually unfortunate, but this couple has turned the focus into something fun, not something to feel bad about. Jimmy lost his eye in an accident at work and despite his loss of sight in one eye, their commitment, love and joy has never ceased but only grown stronger.

“They were a delight, full of laughs, jokes, especially during their bridal portraits. This wedding was nothing short of jokes, laughter and love.”

Bridal Q & A

What was the overall theme for the ceremony and reception?

“We went with mint and coral colors with a shabby chic look and feel.”

Describe the bride/bridesmaids’ attire.

“I picked the dress color of the bridesmaids and let them pick their own dress style and coral accessory!”

What types of flowers did you have?

“For all our wedding flowers, we used spray roses, roses, baby’s breath, stock, chrysanthemums, daisies, lisianthus, and alstroemeria.”

What was your favorite wedding moment?

“My Favorite moment was walking down the aisle. I could re-live that moment everyday, seeing his face at the end of the aisle was an amazing feeling.”

How many guests were invited and what was the final guest count?

“We invited around 130 guests and about 115 were able to join us for our day.”

Which pieces of music did you use during the ceremony?

“The Bridal Party and Groomsmen, along with the Mother’s all came down the Isle dancing to music.”

Any tips to share with brides planning their own wedding?

“DONT STRESS! Your wedding will never go as planned, so just go with the flow! No one likes a Bridezilla!”

What was your budget?

“Our wedding budget was $16,000. We definitely went over, all the last minute details add up!”
