Wedding Story
Photographer’s Remarks:
All day, Jon had been holding back tears. Now, we’ve known Jon for many years, and if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that he is a total goofball with lots of energy. Which means he doesn’t show his emotions too much. But once he was standing in front of family and loved ones. Watching Hilary, his soon-to-be wife, walking down the aisle to him. Suddenly, it was all hitting Jon. The tears couldn’t be held back any longer.
Oh, girl, did it make US tear up! Jon & Hilary’s Victor Vineyards Wedding in Lodi, California, was emotional, beautiful and timeless. This California couple planned the perfect summer soiree, socially distanced of course, for family and friends complete with blush pink and rich maroon florals with navy and gray accents. That’s a California wedding right there, if you ask us!
What made this Victor Vineyards Wedding in Lodi, California, extra special was the expression of their families’ Christian faith. With gorgeous calligraphy verses and love notes by a close family member, guests were greeted along the entrance with joy and love. Hilary’s grandmother even prepared a special Bible reading and prayer for the newlyweds during their ceremony.
Even with 30mph winds, and a global pandemic, Jon & Hilary’s summer California wedding was absolutely perfect in every way. With dark wood resin chairs, bright florals in mason jars, handmade calligraphy signs for seating, wayfinding and highlighting, just about everything was Hilary’s vision. While much of the decor was DIY, the big do-it-yourself project was the venue itself.
Victor Vineyards is Hilary’s family’s vineyard and winery, and just 6 months ago, their ceremony and reception space was a flat patch of dirt with no electricity or pathways. Jon and Hilary’s father led the renovation, and with the help of Hilary’s family and the groomsmen, the entire space was transformed into the perfect California wedding venue!
These two met the new usual way, so thanks to the dating app, Hinge, Jon and Hilary connected and spent their first hours together at Top Golf in Roseville. Right away, Jon knew that he wanted to marry Hilary. 2 hours. Actually, 3 hours. That’s how far Jon drove to meet Hilary. After mistakenly thinking Roseville was halfway between his hometown and Lodi, Jon committed to his plan. As a result, it eventually led to this beautiful wedding in Lodi, California.
From Hilary’s stunning Essense of Australia gown to beautiful florals designed to by United Evergreen Floral to classic and beautiful rentals from Bella Festa and more, everything about this Victor Vineyards Wedding in Lodi, California was an absolute dream. We are so in love with our bride and groom, and we are so excited we get to be their neighbors after they get back from their honeymoon.
