Wedding Story
Photographer’s Comments: “Kaela & Mike got married at the amazing Farmhouse at Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek, Arizona. The couple are high school sweethearts — Mike was the teachers assistant in Kaela’s theater class. She was a freshman and he was a senior. They have been inseparable ever since and celebrated their 11th anniversary just before their wedding!
“Kaela & Mike love spending time together going to the movies and finding new places to eat out at. They also go to Comic-Con every year! (Kaela had three outfits for the last Comic-Con, and they were all amazing!) When they are not having weekly game night with their friends, they are spending time with their two cats and polish dwarf rabbit!
“The newlyweds were very relaxed and go with the flow on their wedding day. Kaela was one of the most prepared brides I have had and that made the wedding day run ahead of schedule. Sure, there were a few snags the morning of (people being navigated to Chick-fil-a instead of the venue), but once it was time for the First Look, everything else melted away and they were swept up in the love they have for each other.
“And then, it was finally time for the ceremony. Kaela’s mom walked her down the aisle and the couple’s friend Cierra was their officiant. Their ceremony was full of happy tears and shared laughs. With the exchange of vows, rings, and a kiss, it was finally official! After they signed the wedding certificate, I snuck the couple away for some dreamy portraits in the orchard while the sun was setting behind the trees.
“The reception was beautifully decorated with wood slabs, purple mason jars, and dried wheat and lavender. Their favors were purple coozies that said, ‘To love, laughter, and happily ever after’. I cannot think of a better quote to sum up their wedding!
“Their shared their first dance right as they entered the reception. After dinner the best man, maid of honor, family members and friends all shared heartfelt toasts and funny stories of when they first started dating in high school.
“After toasts, the party did not stop! Between all of the dancing they squeezed in time for mother/son and mother/daughter dances, cutting the cake, the shoe game, and tossing the bouquet and garter (on a football, of course). The night ended with a fireworks display over the farm house!”
